Ford Creates a New Sinister Look for its 2025 F-150 Lobo Street Truck

After the success of the 2025 Maverick Lobo trim, Ford is giving the F-150 a similar makeover.

Ford realizes that a key part of truck ownership is a desire to personalize the pickup. Ford’s latest design offers buyers the opportunity to customize the F-150 into a street truck right from the factory. The 2025 F-150 Lobo arrives with a suspension that is lowered two inches, and special trim that gives it a sinister appearance. It is designed by Josh Blundo, who designed the successful Maverick Lobo.

“One of the most impactful items we have is this 10-piece ground appearance package that sits just below the regular F-150 body, said Blundo. This package enabled us to achieve more sinister styling on the front end, specifically by replacing those F-150 bumper valances with that large, wide mesh grill on the lower bumper. It gives it that sinister look that the street truck community is looking for.”

Blundo says his team knows what the street truck crowd wants because they studied their trucks. Continuing what Maverick Lobo started last year, the F-150 Lobo is designed to serve a new segment of potential F-150 customers. For years, they have been taking factory pickup trucks, chopping and lowering them. Ford saw them adding more power and decided to design a package just for them.

2025 F-150 Lobo

  • Lobo package available on the STX trim
  • Supercrew
  • 22” gloss wheels
  • Standard dual exhaust tips
  • 5.0-liter V8 engine
  • 400 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Two-speed automatic 4WD system

Most importantly, by having Ford do all the custom work, the Lobo is covered by the Ford factory limited warranty. Plus, the buyer can add the upgrades into the cost of the car loan, rather than paying for the aftermarket work out of pocket.

Brian Bell, marketing manager for the F-150, likes that the upgrades are available on a less expensive truck. “One of my favorite things is the front-end appearance, specifically the lighted grill bar and the matching headlights. I think that's so unique and different; it's really going to stand out and make the truck something truly special. I love that we're doing this on an STX model, which makes it more affordable for people looking for a street truck. And frankly, I just like that we're continuing to look for opportunities for customers and expanding the 'Built Ford Tough' spirit.”

Additional 2025 F-150 Lobo Upgrades

The first thing you’ll notice is the light bar that runs across the front grille, truly setting the look of the Lobo apart from other trucks. Plus, the grille looks very different from other F-150s.

Black Accents that Set the Lobo Apart:

  • Hood vents
  • Cowl hood
  • Standard exhaust tips
  • Lobo badging
  • 22-inch gloss-black wheels
  • Updated headlights and taillights

“I love the swagger, the stance, and the edginess of the F-150 Lobo, said John Walawender, F-150 brand manager. There's no mistaking the truck and its confident stance. And that unique signature light bar that runs across the center of the grille clearly identifies it as a Lobo.”

“F-150 Lobo combines custom design elements like ground effects, front end, cowl hood, and lowered ride height. It's ready to go right off the line, while also providing options to further customize, according to John LoPorto, program engineer.”

That’s a key point! Ford knows that buyers will most likely do other things to personalize their trucks, but the Lobo gives them a place to start by already managing some of the more difficult alterations, while keeping them under warranty. Many buyers don’t realize, until too late, that adding aftermarket lift kits or lowering suspensions often voids factory warranties.

When We’ll See the 2025 F-150 Lobo

The new F-150 Lobo is available in five exterior colors: Agate Black Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White, and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. I think the all-black version looks the most like the street trucks that I’ve seen in Denver and Detroit. Ordering for the F-150 Lobo is open now. The Lobo package adds $4,695 to the price of the truck. The F-150 is built at Ford’s Rouge Complex, in Michigan. F-150 Lobo should be available later this summer.
