Cybertruck Early Resevation Holders Are Getting Emails To Configure Their Foundation Series Cybertruck

Tesla Sending Email to Configure Foundation Series Cybertrucks

Tesla appears to be sending out emails to people who are early Cybertruck reservation holders asking them to configure their Cybertruck. There also appears to be a $1,000 extra non-refundable deposit that is necessary to do so.

Tesla is also saying the following:

“Your order is eligible for free Powershare Home Backup hardware-you just cover the installation cost. Take our survey to confirm your interest.** We will reach out to you with more information and connect you with a Tesla Certified Installer.”

The Powershare home backup allows you to power your home with the energy stored in your Cybertruck's battery pack, helping keep the lights on for up to three days when outages occur.*

Each order is eligible for free Powershare home backup hardware - you just cover the installation cost. Tesla asks that you take their survey to confirm your interest. Tesla will reach out to you with more information and to connect you with a Tesla certified installer.

Tri Motor Cyberbeast Gets the Allowance - AWD Does Not

The Cyberbeast variant of the Cybertruck gets this $4,000 installation allowance, but the AWD variant does not.

The Cybertruck is going to supply about 10 PowerWalls worth of energy. I think someone could use the Cybertruck as a mobile PowerWall instead of having to buy the PowerWall directly. However, the Powerwall is built for stationary storage and one that uses LFP batteries will likely last longer than the Cybertruck battery, which is not LFP.

I have long thought that Tesla will release only 1,000 Foundation series Cybertrucks, however, we will have to wait and see how many people report getting an email to configure a Foundation series limited edition, which will come with lifetime premium connectivity and a lifetime subscription of FSD all paid for as part of the purchase price.

Foundation series Cybertrucks also come with special engravings of "Foundation Series" on the Cybertruck, as well as the Cyberbeast version having a laser engraved 3-headed Cerberus.

It's probably worth checking your email or Tesla account if you put in an order for a Cybertruck right when Tesla opened them up on the site in 2019. You just might be able to configure a Foundation series Cybertruck.

You can also check your Tesla account and click on "manage on your Cybertruck reservation." If you aren't getting emails from Tesla, you might still be one of the few who can configure their Cybertruck.
