A Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says the Blemishes on His Truck are Driving Him Insane – However, He adds, “I Took Delivery Knowing All the Issues Because I Didn’t Want to Postpone the Delivery”

Ozzy Gutierrez, a Cybertruck owner from New Jersey, says he took delivery of a blemished Cybertruck because he didn’t want to wait until Tesla gave him a flawless vehicle.

Ozzy adds that he was one of the first people to take delivery of a Cybertruck in his area. At that time, the wait for a Cybertruck was so long that he was afraid that if he rejected the delivery, he might have to wait a while until Tesla offered him another truck.

Making his situation even more urgent, Ozzy states that the first time Tesla contacted him to take a Cybertruck delivery, he was out of town, and his current Cybertruck was already his second attempt at acquiring the all-electric truck.

Regrettably, when Ozzy went to pick up his Cybertruck, he noticed a brown spot and some scratches on the truck’s stainless steel door.

Fearful of missing out, Ozzy decided to proceed with the delivery; however, he says that a year later, he still can’t get over the blemishes, and lately, the defects have been driving him crazy.

The frustrated Cybertruck owner shared his experience in the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.

He writes…

“I was one of the first people in New Jersey to get a Cybertruck! 

They had to pass me the first time because I was working out of state and couldn’t make it in time for pickup. So when my turn came around again, I ran over there to grab it. 

I did notice a brown spot on the door and a scratch on the top, but I didn’t want to risk missing out again — they were like hotcakes back then!

Now, though, that spot and those scratches are driving me insane. Any advice on how to remove them?”

Below his post, Ozzy shared two pictures of his Cybertruck's stainless steel door, showing a prominent brown spot and some minor scratches above it.

This is definitely not ideal, and looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners suggested various ways Ozzy might be able to remove the blemish from his Cybertruck’s stainless steel surface.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Eric Poissant, suggested using Bar Keepers Friend to clean the blemishes off the truck.

However, Eric cautioned that if the cleaning product is not diluted, it will end up polishing the truck too much, and Ozzy will have to apply Bar Keepers Friend to the entire truck to ensure that the surface finish matches.

Eric writes…

“I use Bar Keepers Friend, but make sure your Cybertruck is wet first; otherwise, it cleans very deep, and you will have to do the whole truck.”

Another Cybertruck owner, Clement Chew, mentioned that his truck was also delivered with a brown spot, but regretfully, the spot wouldn’t come off using Bar Keepers Friend.

Clement adds that he had to take his truck to Tesla service, and the EV maker had to sand the truck to remove the brown spot.

Clement writes…

“Brown spots that don't come off with Bar Keepers Friend need to be polished off with a sanding pad. Mine was delivered with a big spot on the door, and Tesla had to sand it.”

These are the Cybertruck owners who suggested ways to remove the brown spot from the truck; however, other Cybertruck owners argue that the blemish is not significant and that Ozzy should either ignore it or spend thousands to wrap his truck.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Johnny Fleming, writes…

“That's not too bad. None of them are perfect, so don't let it bother you, or consider getting it wrapped in a colored PPF."

Another Cybertruck owner, Lan Dao, echoes this sentiment, writing…

“I got my Cybertruck wrapped with PPF and enjoyed it every single day.”

Overall, looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners seem to believe a brown spot on a Cybertruck is not a major concern.
