Elon Musk Dismisses Calls that Tesla Should Build a Conventional Truck Amid Falling Cybertruck Sales – Agrees, “The Tasteless Hordes Aren’t Equipped to Recognize The Cybertruck’s Brilliance”

Elon Musk has agreed with a Cybertruck owner who argued that the reason the all-electric truck isn’t selling is because “the tasteless hordes and their MSM-addled brains aren’t equipped to recognize the Cybertruck’s brilliance.”

As Tesla Cybertruck sales continue to decline, Elon Musk has offered a possible explanation for why people are not purchasing the all-electric truck.

Musk appears to agree that the main reason people don’t buy a Tesla Cybertruck is that they don’t fully understand the vehicle’s brilliance.

Musk also blamed mainstream media coverage for the lower-than-expected demand for the Cybertruck.

Despite acknowledging the sales slump, Musk still dismissed the idea that Tesla should build a conventional truck to replace the Cybertruck.

Elon made his comment in response to a Tesla Cybertruck owner on X, James Douma, who defended the Cybertruck from other Tesla fans.

The entire discussion about the Cybertruck began in response to a debate among Tesla fans about whether it was time for Tesla to make a more traditional-looking truck.

A Tesla enthusiast who goes by the username TesCalander on X kicked off the discussion by reposting a previous statement by Elon Musk.

TesCalendar quoting Elon Musk’s previous statement writes…

“Elon Musk: ‘If it turns out nobody wants to buy a weird-looking truck, we’ll build a normal truck, no problem,’

So… is it time????”

Below his post, TesCalendar included a picture of the Tesla Cybertruck next to a Ford F-150 truck.

This post, especially coming from a pro-Tesla personality, caused a lot of stir, which led many Tesla fans, including James Douma and Jesse Peltan, to come out in support of the Cybertruck.

Jesse Peltan first responds to the suggestion that Tesla should perhaps build a more traditional truck like the Ford F-150.

Jesse writes…

“The Ford F-150 on the bottom is the weird one, not the Cybertruck.

It makes no sense structurally, aerodynamically, or spatially.

It’s purely an imitation of the past.

It has no soul of its own.

It’s a copy of a copy of a copy.

It’s a product of a civilization in decay.

A product of a cargo cult that imitates the impression of a form, rather than understanding its essence.”

This is a strong endorsement of the Cybertruck and a major rebuke of “normal” looking trucks, including the Ford F-150.

However, if you thought Jesse’s Cybertruck endorsement was strong, James Douma goes one further and basically suggests the masses are too ignorant to understand the Cybertruck’s brilliance.

James writes…

“I love my Cybertruck. It's the pinnacle of design and utility.

The tasteless hordes and their mainstream media-addled brains may be unequipped to recognize its brilliance, but I DON'T CARE.

To abandon it for yet another mediocre me-too creation would be tragic and unacceptable. This thing is a masterpiece.”

Referring to people who don’t want to buy a product as “tasteless hordes” may seem a bit extreme; however, as I mentioned at the beginning of this article, Musk has surprisingly endorsed this viewpoint.

Musk saw James Douma’s response and gave it his usual stamp of approval, replying with a flexed robot arm and a fire emoji to show support and indicate that James Douma’s statement is correct.

This is certainly an interesting stance for a company’s CEO to take regarding why his product is not selling.

Tasteless hordes? C'mon, Leon, you made an epic mistake when you tripped over your ego, that's all. Why not simply own it, right? No one else will, evidently. Have you seen your overflow lots?

I agree that sales are slumping because everyone who wants one of these hideous dumpsters on wheels has already bought one. And not surprisingly a lot of them have buyers remorse. I think if you buy one of these you’re just showing you’re an obnoxious a-hole with more money than brains! These ugly machines were obviously made for Tesla fanboys with too much money and not enough brains! I believe the other manufacturers are continuing their brands by making trucks that look like their brand! If I can afford it later on, I will purchase a Ram REV because I’m a loyal Ram customer and I think Rams ev is 1000% better looking than the cybertruck will ever be! That’s my two cents! lol
