What happens when a Tesla Cybertruck pulls up in front of a school?
The kids went absolutely nuts. What happened to Travis Stalkier surprised him because he was expecting a different outcome. I found his post on the Tesla Cybertruck Owner's Facebook page. In Michigan, where he lives, it’s been cold, and the students haven’t been outside, but today was different.
As it begins to thaw out in the Midwest and the temperatures are warmer, the students were outside his kid's school when he picked them up, and when they saw the Cybertruck, it was a mad dash to take a look. What happened to him and his kids was a total shock.
Travis says,
"Yesterday was the first day all the students were outside when I picked up my six-year-old from school. We are in Michigan, and it's been too cold, but it's warming up now. A group of at least 12 kids ran to the fence screaming, "CYBERTRUCK!" I was expecting the worst. They LOVED it."
"They wanted to know who's dad I was. They asked for a ride. They wanted to know every detail about what it looked like inside. How fast it goes. When did I get it? It was so cool."
The Story Takes an Unexpected Twist
Travis says, "Then after I dropped my son off at home, I had to return because I'm on the local school board. A truck was next to me at the stop sign, and they were yelling at me."
"I assumed it was going to go bad because of all the negative posts and news in the media... but NO. It was a bunch of kids in the back of the truck saying, 'Hi, Lane! Are you Lane's dad?'"
"It was just the coolest thing!"
"I know some people are experiencing negative stuff. It's disgusting. But let's not forget that the vast majority of responses I get are INCREDIBLY positive. And 100% of the people I have let drive it or ride in it - have ALL loved it."
"I just wanted to share some positivity. It was so cool!"
In Another Story, I Wrote
With all the negative attention Tesla Cybertruck owners are getting these days, particularly due to its unconventional design and controversial features, this Cybertruck owner was surprised by what happened when a man started taking pictures of his truck. He thought it would turn ugly, but then something amazing happened.
Louis says, "Early this morning, around 6 AM, I stopped by Dunkin' Donuts to grab breakfast for the office. As I stepped out of my Cybertruck, a man started taking pictures. At first, I was annoyed, but then, with all the negativity you hear these days, I found myself watching him, watching my Cybertruck."
"And in that moment, admiration replaced irritation. Needless to say, I understand why he took the photo, so I decided to take one, too."
Another Cybertruck Owner's Perspective,
Marcus shares, "As more Cybertrucks grace the streets, car shows, and public spaces, owners provide non-owners with their first up-close look. The response? A growing admiration for the truck's design, abilities, and features."
"People are getting educated firsthand, breaking free from the online propaganda, political nonsense, and emotional meltdowns over its radical design."
The Negativity Is Fueling Interest in the Cybertruck
"The massive online negativity is actually fueling more curiosity and exposure. People see the hate, they hear the drama—so they want to check it out for themselves," he says.
However, not all Tesla owners are standing firm in the face of adversity.
Karen and her husband own a Tesla Model 3 and a Tesla Model Y.
Karen says, "My husband and I own two Teslas. A Model 3 and a Model Y. We love our cars. Still, we are increasingly concerned about our safety when driving them and with the company, given that Elon remains involved. He is a lightning rod, and when we drive our Tesla cars, we are becoming targets for hate, even if we individually think his politics are "crap."
"We will ditch our Teslas if Elon stays involved with politics and the Tesla car company. What are others thinking?" Check out the entire story here.
Back To Travis Stalkier's story
The kids' overwhelming excitement was an unexpected surprise for Travis, who had anticipated a different reaction.
Kids aren't watching the news or listening to the negative stories about the Tesla Cybertruck. They love the controversial truck because it's unique and not like any other truck.
Why did Elon Musk build the Cybertruck?
Musk says the Ford F-150 truck is boring and wanted something very different. A report from Business Insider says, "Elon Musk apparently wasn't a fan of Ford's traditional pickup trucks, and his distaste for the vehicles spawned the Cybertruck, according to the billionaire's biographer, Walter Isaacson.
Isaacson says, "He's sitting there with his design chief Franz von Holzhausen and looking at a Ford truck, and he said, 'No, these things are boring."
Isaacson added. "And everybody's pushing back on him at this meeting. He finally says, 'Yeah, stop it. We're gonna do it. We're gonna make it edgy."
The Cybertruck is Edgy
The Tesla Cybertruck is at the forefront of a trend. It's not just experimental or avant-garde. It's an unusual idea born from not wanting to be like everyone else.
If you look at car designs today, automakers copy each other, and it's hard to tell the difference between brands. They all look alike. It's a cop-cat industry. Not so with the Tesla Cybertruck.
The established way of doing things doesn't hold kids back. "This is how it's always been done, and we aren't going to change" mentality. Kids like to think outside the box. These students will be the leaders in the future. We should take a lesson from them.
