The 2016 Toyota Prius has been named the 2018 Wheels TV Pre-Owned Vehicle of the Year (POV). The Prius was the top-ranked vehicle by a panel of some of America's most experienced automotive journalists from Wheels TV and the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA).

The 2016 Prius was the first year of the fourth generation of the legendary Prius. Not only did the 2016 Prius improve on fuel economy, it also added a better driving experience, standard active safety, and a bold new exterior design. The new Prus Hybrid is also the basis for the top-selling affordable EV in America, the Prius Prime.

The POV AWARD is awarded to a vehicle that has been in service for at least two years and demonstrates outstanding reliability and exceptional customer satisfaction. It doesn't hurt that the Prius has historically had one of the highest resale values of any green car. The fact that the Prius earns higher crash test rankings than does the Tesla Model S is also one reason that the Prius earns the respect of judges.

FuelEconomy.gov says that the 2016 Prius returns fuel economy numbers in the mid-50 MPGs. Wheels TV and NEMPA say it is one of the best pre-owned vehicles in America.
