Detroit Cancer Charity Auction has GT350R Mustang, Super Bowl Tickets, More

A 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang and a long list of amazing items will be auctioned off for cancer charities this Saturday at Detroit’s Cobo Hall as part of the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Baron’s Ball – allowing attendees the chance to go home with the rights to a 2016 Shelby Mustang, tickets to the Super Bowl, tickets to the American Idol finale and even a lunch with Ford boss Mark Fields.

The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang should be one of the most track capable, street legal muscle cars ever built and because of that, it will likely be very hard to get your hands on one when they arrive later this year. The GT350R is limited to just 37 units for 2015 and while there will be far more produced for 2016, they will still be tough to get without proper connections – and deep pockets.

If you are one of those deep pocketed individuals who wants to own a new Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang, you can bid to take one home at this weekend’s American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball in Detroit and best of all, the proceeds benefit cancer research and support programs.

The Cattle Baron’s Ball
Starting back in 2003, the American Cancer Society has held their Cattle Baron’s Ball in Detroit’s Cobo Hall, with the area’s elite lining up to buy tickets to one of the poshest social-charity events of the year. There is good food, adult refreshments, live music, raffles and two different auction types – all of which are western themed. The proceeds of the whole beautiful event benefits the American Cancer Society and to make the most of the wealthy socialites in attendance, the event sponsors roll out some pretty impressive, big ticket items to help these wealthy folks break out their platinum cards.

For the 2015 Cattle Baron’s Ball, Ford Motor Company is the main sponsor and the automaker has offered up some serious items for the live auction, including the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang.

The 2015 Auction List
The odds are good that if you are reading this, the new GT350R Mustang is the most interesting item that will hit the Cattle Baron’s Ball auction block. This car costs over $60k if you buy it from your local dealership, but when the bids begin rolling in at the Detroit event this weekend – we can expect to see it bring in some big money. Best of all, this particular GT350R has unique appointments inside and out that make it a 1-of-1 piece, which only adds to the auction value.

However, the Cattle Baron’s Ball is a cancer charity event sponsored by Ford Motor Company in the Motor City – but it is not a car event. Because of that, Ford knew that some auction items other than the new GT350R Mustang would be needed to raise money from those folks who don’t want a new Mustang. They solved that problem in impressive fashion, including 2 tickets to Super Bowl 50, 4 tickets to the NCAA college football national championship came, an American Idol Finale package for 4, a Grammy Awards package for 4, a Ford Racing Experience event for 2, a round of golf at Oakland Hills with Ford’s VP Hau Thai-Tang and lunch for 3 with Ford CEO Mark Fields.

So, thanks to Ford, attendees at Saturday’s Cattle Baron’s Ball could walk away with tickets to the Super Bowl, the American Idol finale, the college football championship game, the Grammys, a round of golf with a Ford exec, lunch with a Ford exec and – of course – the mighty Mustang GT350R.

The event is Saturday the 26th and tickets do still appear to be on sale via the American Cancer Society website. They are $200, so just getting into the event isn’t cheap, but for those who have the money – this event is an amazing fundraiser for cancer charity while also presenting some truly incredible auction items.
