The 2020 Camaro 2SS Coupe Drives Like a Supercar

After just one year, Chevrolet is once again lending a hand to the Camaro. The front design of the 2020 SS Camaro had caused a lot of criticism, but many like. It grows on you.

The Chevrolet Camaro SS caused controversy when it was redesigned for 2019 because of its front end. The design of the front end shocked many followers of the brand. What was especially criticized was the central part of the grille, which was painted black on which the brand logo was affixed. Several automotive enthusiasts and Camaro fans have severely criticized Chevrolet for wanting to imitate Ford with the new front of its Shelby GT500 2020. In short, this new front part did not please many and the best proof of this assertion is that the manufacturer decided to see it again for 2020.

But to me it looks good. The finished product is already more interesting with the new Chevrolet Camaro SS 2020. First, the logo has resumed its place on the grille and not on the body part. The 2020 Camaro no longer painted black, but it is now matched to the body, which gives a frankly more appreciable look to the car. However, the shape of the headlights and the position of the fog lights remain unchanged, two elements which have also been severely criticized.

While I was test-driving the 2020 Camaro 2SS Coupe, which comes with a total vehicle price of $47,475, the reader should know that the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro has become the least expensive V8 muscle car. Chevrolet fans can now get into the 455 horsepower Camaro LT1 for $34,995, $1,455 less than the 460 horsepower Ford Mustang GT, a story that Torque News Performance Car reporter Patrick Rall reported a year ago.

With turbocharged engines that are more and more efficient and V8 engines increasingly rare and expensive, the dream of driving a muscular car with V8 engine is unattainable for the majority of people. This was the case until 2019 when Chevrolet decided to offer an even more affordable version of its Camaro with the 6.2-liter V8 engine. Indeed, the LT1 model will make the Camaro the car with the cheapest V8 engine.

2020 Chevrolet Camaro Improvements

It is not only aesthetically that the new Chevrolet Camaro 2020 benefits from new features. Among the most interesting additions is an optional rear spoiler for the LT and LS versions, new 20-inch wheels. New colors are also added to the catalog for the bodywork, but also for the brake calipers and Recaro seats offered as options in certain versions.

However, one of the most interesting features is that the 10-speed automatic transmission is now offered as an option with the 6-cylinder engine, which will allow the car to improve both its fuel consumption and performance. The Chevrolet Camaro is currently the biggest rival of the Ford Mustang because it offers a range of similar engines.

The Exterior of the 2020 Camaro SS

In the front of the 2020 Camaro 2SS Coupe we do have LED headlamps, daytime running lamps and a nice blacked-out look. On the hood, the 2020 2SS Coupe has the front-hood vents, for some intake to help keep that engine cool.

The 2020 Camaro 2SS Coupe comes with 20' wheels equipped with performance breaks and nice looking calipers.

The key is a smart key. As long as it's 3 feet of the door it will unlock it or unlock the trunk. If you upgrade you will get a key that automatically starts the car.

The Interior of the 2020 Camaro

In the front we have 8-way power driver seat and a 6-way power passenger seat. The seats are heated and ventilated. RECARO performance seats are available on LT (previously 1LE) only. Just in case it is needed, you do have access to the second row by just folding down the front seat to get back there.

To the left of the steering wheel the 2020 Camaro 2SS Coupe has a heads-up display, which is a nice safety feature to keep your eyes on the speedometer and drive within the speed limit.

GM understands that not every driver will use these Camaros as performance base and thus has provided some nice features for everyday use. The Chevy MyLink screen is your homes screen. There you have your audio screen, phone connectivity, navigation, your climate control and many other tech features. But for your audio you also have hard buttons down below. Camaro purists will probably prefer the ZL1 option, but the 2020 2SS Coupe Camaro is a very cool car, especially for the non-Camaro purists. The 6th gen Camaros are great cars: all around much better cars than the very outdated 5th gen. If you are looking for a vehicle that can go to 0 to 60 in around 4 seconds and be driven daily to the office, this is a great vehicle to check out. The 10 speed automatic transmission is powerful. This Camaro drives like a supercar.

Uhhhhh, you forgot to mention that you can order your camaro with a sunroof, something you could'nt get on a mustang if your life depended on it. And all the styling cues on a mustang come from the camaro so just get a camaro. And finally you should've touched on insurance costs compared.
