Is 2022 Toyota 4Runner Limited the “Best” Trim Level? (With Video)

Compelling reasons to choose 2022 Toyota 4Runner Limited.

One of the big benefits of Toyota 4Runner is the sheer number of trim levels available for potential customers to choose from.

Take 4Runner Limited, for example. This is a classic example of capability and luxury combined.

I was recently joined by my friend, popular Toyota reviewer Christina Banks (over 150,000 Instagram followers), to review a 2022 4Runner Limited. Our collaboration review is included below.

There are no differences between 2022 4Runner Limited and the incoming 2023 Limited, so this would be ideal for whichever model year you are researching.

Like all current 4Runner trim levels, the Limited is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 engine that produces 270 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. torque. It is matched with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Look for a 5,000-pound towing capacity as well.

The thing I like most about 4Runner Limited is the ride itself compared to other grades. X-Reas Sport Enhancement Suspension is the chief reason here. This is where the shock absorbers automatically adjust the damping force when cornering or going over bumpy surfaces. It allows passengers to enjoy smoother handling and improved overall ride comfort. X-Reas is considered more of an on-road suspension system versus braving more challenging off-road trails.

On a side note, X-Reas Suspension system is also found on 4Runner TRD Sport.

Other 4Runner Limited Features

Big “first impression” features I notice are the shiny chrome front end accents and the 20-inch chrome alloy wheels.
Interior highlights include leather-trimmed seats with both heated and cooled/ventilated functions.

Also look for a 15 speaker JBL audio system and an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM.

Power moonroof is standard equipment as well.

2022 4Runner Limited Price

There is a slight price increase between 2022 and 2023 4Runner Limited.

For 2022, the 4x2 Limited has a factory MSRP of $47,690, while the 4x4 configuration starts at $49,725.

If you are searching for a 2023 Toyota 4Runner, plan on $48,040 for 4x2 and $50,075 for 4x4.

Time for Your Toyota 4Runner Comments

While many people are searching for a 2022 or 2023 model, there are others who are holding out for the next generation 4Runner. As of now, this is more of a myth than fact since nobody outside of Toyota itself has seen it or knows when it will be released. Maybe 2024 4Runner. Perhaps 2025.

What do you think of Toyota 4Runner Limited? Do you own one or are you looking to buy one? Also, what 4Runner trim level is best for you and your family?
