When the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was unveiled, most people noticed that the grille was slightly different and that the Wagoneer line was quietly rolled into the Grand Wagoneer lineup. There is much more to the new Grand Wagoneer than just its pretty fascia. Jeep also revealed that the 2026 Grand Wagoneer will be a standard bearer for Stellantis’ new extended range electric vehicle platform. The technical term is a REEV range-extended electric vehicle. The powertrain has been talked about for the Ram 1500 and was so well received that Ram cancelled plans for its EV truck and is proceeding with the extended range version known as the Ram REV. It appears we will see the REEV first in the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

New in 2026, the Grand Wagoneer will carry Jeep branding and be the flagship for the brand. There had been talk previously of breaking Wagoneer out as its own brand like Ram, but leaders have decided keeping Grand Wagoneer within Jeep made more sense. Previous versions don’t say Jeep anywhere on the vehicle, now they will. Also, executives realized that the less-expensive Wagoneer line just confused potential buyers and it made more sense to keep it as a trim level of the Grand Wagoneer.

“With the refreshed 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, we’re delivering more than just bold design and refined craftsmanship: we’re offering competitive pricing that ensures exceptional value in the large SUV segment,” said Bob Broderdorf, Jeep brand CEO. “Every Grand Wagoneer also now proudly wears a Jeep badge, reinforcing its prominent position within the Jeep family, while making it easier for customers to find the exact model that fits their lifestyle and price point.”

2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Forging Ahead into EV Landscape

Stellantis has been criticized for dragging its feet entering into the EV and BEV arena. Jeep has been tremendously successful with its 4xe hybrid powertrain for the Jeep Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee. The electrified versions are currently the top selling plug-in hybrids. The new REEV powertrain may be a game changer for vehicles because it offers incredible EV range powered by a gasoline engine.

The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will offer a fully gas-powered vehicle, which is expected to be the most popular. The Grand Wagoneer will have the award-winning 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine. The Standard Output engine has 420 horsepower and 468 lb.-ft. of torque. The gas-powered Grand Wagoneer has best-in-class available towing capability of up to 10,000 lbs. The award-winning engine boasts more horsepower, more torque and lower emissions than many competitors’ V-8s and turbocharged six-cylinder engines.

Later in the model year, Jeep will start producing the 2026 Grand Wagoneer REEV vehicle. The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer REEV is expected to deliver an estimated 647 horsepower and 620 lb.-ft. of torque. The large vehicle will go from 0-60 in just five seconds. That sort of incredible acceleration would make it the quickest, most powerful Grand Wagoneer ever. It would have a expected range of around 500 miles. The Grand Wagoneer REEV would give drivers instant electric torque and all-electric driving for daily commutes, plus extended range for family road trips or towing adventures.

A dedicated battery pack provides quiet, zero-emission performance, while a gasoline engine works with an onboard generator to seamlessly supply electricity for longer journeys. With the wheels powered exclusively by electric motors, drivers experience smooth, responsive acceleration expected from Jeep’s most premium vehicle.

“We’re giving our customers a choice in how they experience performance and efficiency,” said Micky Bly, senior vice president and head of global propulsion systems at Stellantis. “Our award-winning 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo I-6 delivers outstanding power and capability, while the new range-extended electric system introduces a smarter path to electrification by combining the quiet confidence of all-electric driving with the assurance of long-range freedom. Both options showcase our commitment to delivering advanced propulsion solutions that meet real-world customer needs without compromise.”

2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Stream-Lined Appearance

Jeep’s iconic seven-slot grille now features illuminated slots, adding a modern, technical edge. The T-shaped LED lights in the lower fascia add depth and precision, enhancing the Grand Wagoneer’s more contemporary design. The full-width LED taillamps mirror the front’s horizontal design. This updated look enhances visibility and also accentuates the vehicle’s width and significant presence.

The Grand Wagoneer is also going chrome-free as a modern expression of luxury. The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will come in three distinct trim levels and starting prices will range all the way from just under $65,000 to a high of nearly $99,000 for the top of the line, long wheel base 4x4.

Both the internal combustion and the REEV 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will be built at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Michigan.
