Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says, “I Shouldn’t Have To Do This To My Cybertruck, My $3,500 Cyber Wheels Look Great, But They Constantly Get Misaligned”

Does the Tesla Cybertruck have an issue with its wheel covers constantly becoming misaligned? Jeremy, a Cybertruck owner, says he shouldn't have to align a wheel that costs $3,500. Is the issue overblown, is it legitimate, or is he just a perfectionist?

"Why do I have to keep adjusting my $3,500 Tesla Cybertruck wheel covers constantly?"

Jeremy Judkins (@jeremyjudkins2) shares a concern that many Cybertruck owners often face. The constant misalignment of the wheel covers. This problem raises the question: Is this a widespread issue or a matter of individual perception?

Maybe Jeremy is too much of a perfectionist?

Imagine being a perfectionist, and every time you go out to the garage or look back at your Cybertruck, you see the wheel covers slightly misaligned. It's a feeling that drives you up the wall, a shared experience among some owners. They are off-center just enough to bother you.

No one else notices, but you do.

It's like seeing a picture hanging on the wall, and it's off just a little bit. You have to walk over and adjust it. It doesn't bother everyone, but you notice it and have to fix it. You even get out your leveling tool, which you have in your toolbox, and make sure it's 100% level.

Crazy, right?

Jeremy says, in his TikTok video, "If you are thinking about buying a Tesla Cybertruck, please be mindful of the $3,500 Cyber wheels. They are the best wheels, in my opinion; they look great, but they are constantly becoming misaligned."

"It's a chore to take them completely apart to realign them. One thing you can do is use a wheel cap kit and not use the covers, but the covers look so cool and futuristic."

"I cannot stand this," he says as he points to the wheel covers that are off-center slightly. "It's one of the least favorite things about my Cybertruck."

"What I have to do is to take the cover off because when I'm driving or just go through a car wash, it gets slightly misaligned. It's made to be perfectly lined up, but it doesn't stay that way."

Jeremy demonstrates how he must disassemble the two pieces of the wheel cover to adjust them, and then struggles to reassemble the wheel cover onto the wheel.

It takes some effort.

He snaps the wheel cover back on, and now it's aligned properly. He's happy, but now his hands are dirty.

Perfectionists don't like dirt on their hands, so now he's got another problem.

"Now, I can't touch anything in the house before I wash my hands, or I'll get this grime on my hands everywhere.

So, now, Jeremy has to go to the kitchen sink and wash his dirty hands.

"I have to use a lot of Dawn dish soap, and I don't think a scrub brush is even meant to be used on human skin, but it's what I have to do."

If you are a perfectionist, you know what it's like.

However, is it a real problem to keep the Cybertruck wheel covers aligned?

Eric Bellamy, on the Tesla Cybertruck Owners Facebook page, says, "I was traveling down the highway, heard something slapping the shi* out of the back of Cybertruck. "I pulled over, and it was the rubber on the already replaced wheel covers coming apart. Can't make this up."

On the Tesla Cybertruck Owners Club page, Ray Ingrassia says, "I don't really understand why Tesla just didn't put holes in the Cybertruck's hubcaps with a long valve extension to save their customers all this hassle. I haven't had to remove mine yet, but I will probably somehow mark the cap and tire before removing for easier reinstall positioning."

Oscar says, "When I pulled the first piece out to realign with the tire, one of the seven clips was broken. It is plastic and very fragile. Eventually, all of them could be broken because I have to take them out to pump the tires!"

Is the issue overblown or legitimate?

eswimm said, "The hassle is being overblown. You only need to line up the two pieces on the initial install. With seven spokes on the rim and seven on the cover, it doesn't matter how you line it up on reinstall, it's always aligned unless you switch covers between wheels."

"A firm pull with two hands aligned at two adjacent spokes easily removes the cover with both pieces attached. To reinstall, just fit the cover back on the rim with the spokes aligned to the tire, support the center, and use the base of your fist to seat the seven spokes and then the center."

"It takes 30 seconds to remove and replace a cover if you're being thorough. I have no idea how people are breaking clips or scratching rims."

Conclusion:

Some Tesla Cybertruck owners have reported issues with the wheel covers becoming misaligned. Several sources suggest that improper installation is a potential cause of the problem. In some instances, the cover may become misaligned under certain conditions, such as when launching the "beast launches" mode for maximum acceleration.

However, if you are a perfectionist like Jeremy, you will have to roll up your sleeves. So, go to the store, stock up on Dawn dish soap, and prepare to be bothered every time you look at your Tesla Cybertruck wheel covers.

CORRECTION: Those wheel covers look awful. Bolt on garbage is for teenagers, not adults. You stand corrected, amigo.
