New M2 makes global debut in Detroit: BMW announces pricing

The 2016 BMW M2 makes its official world debut at the North American International Auto Show. How much will it cost?

BMW officially unveiled the new 2016 M2 Coupe at NAIAS in Detroit yesterday. It was the big event performance enthusiasts have waited for since October when BMW M announced the first ever 2 Series M model. BMW M GmbH has shown us plenty of pictures and videos to get performance enthusiasts excited, but there’s nothing like seeing the rear thing. Patrick Rall, our journalist at the show said the new M2 is “stunning in person.”

BMW announces pricing on M2 and X4 M40i

BMW M announced pricing on the newest M model and the 2016 BMW M2 will be available at U.S. BMW showrooms starting at $51,700 plus destination starting in April 2016. The 2016 BMW X4 M40i also made its global debut yesterday at the Detroit Auto Show. The new performance BMW X4 M40i also makes its dealer launch in April. The X4 M40i will start at $57,800 plus destination.

Stunning performance

BMW’ M2 Coupe will be a fun ride and performance enthusiasts will surely be lining up to get one of the first U.S. models when they arrive this spring. It’s been one of the most highly-anticipated launches from BMW M GmbH since it was announced. It will come with stunning performance with its newly developed M TwinPower Turbo technology 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder engine that produces 365 bHP and 343 lb-ft of torque. The overboost function raises power to 369 lb-ft between 1,450 and 4,750. The M2 will launch fro 0-60 in just 4.2 seconds with the M DCT). M2 has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

The stunning Long Beach Blue metallic 2016 BMW M2 made a grand reveal at the COBO Center in Detroit yesterday. BMW is producing the M2 in three other colors; Alpine White, Mineral Grey and Sapphire Black.
