New 2016 BMW M3 Sedan uses high tech to achieve more with less

BMW has given us a glimpse of the new 2016 M3 Sedan and it gets a few changes inside and out.

BMW released information on the new 2016 3 Series and it gets a refresh and some new engines and a new plug-in hybrid. But what about the 2016 M3 Sedan? BMW didn’t release full information on the performance sedan, but did give an idea of what fans can expect.

What’s new for 2016 M3?

BMW released a few images of the M3 Sedan and it comes with a few design changes. For 2016, M3 gets newly designed full-LED rear tail lights and some new chrome highlights for the interior. The biggest benefit will be the new LED tail lamps are extremely efficient saving power and weight in the new M3. They will also be instant-on, unlike incandescent bulbs that need to “warm up” creating additional heat and resistance. The new M3’s LEDs are exceptionally thin providing a packaging benefit and they are lighter and use less electrical power.

Optional mobile technology for M3

BMW will now offer their new generation Navigation system Professional with LTE on the 2016 M3. The system boasts quicker start-up, faster route calculation and more realistic 3D visualization in cities. BMW says the LTE technology when fitted with the Navigation System enhances USB, Bluetooth and smartphone integration. Those living in rural areas should see improved network coverage and data transmission speeds.
