I Walked By a Bright Pink Tesla Cybertruck, and I Just Realized, It’s an Undercover Cop Car

First, imagine seeing a pink Cybertruck. Then, you discover it’s an undercover cop car. Now you’re in disbelief because you can’t fathom a cop driving it. It’s great for undercover, because who would ever suspect this 'cute' cruiser is on official duty?

Imagine getting pulled over by a bright pink Tesla Cybertruck, only to discover it’s an undercover police vehicle.

Courtney Ferris (@courtferriswheel3), in a TikTok video clip, says that as she was leaving a restaurant, she saw the pink Cybertruck and couldn’t believe it. But, she was even more surprised as she took a closer look.

Here’s the way it went down.

Picture Courtney walking out of a fast food restaurant, and a bright pink Tesla Cybertruck catches her eye. It’s parked away from the other cars, and she walks over to check the unusual truck out.

She was on her way to drive home in her trusty, if slightly dented, sedan from the asphalt jungle of the parking lot. That's when it caught my eye. A behemoth of unmistakable angles, with an audacity that could only belong to a Tesla Cybertruck.

But this wasn't just any Cybertruck. This one was... pink.

Not a subtle, blush pink. Not a faded, pastel pink. This was a vibrant, unapologetic, bubblegum-meets-neon pink that practically vibrated, “look at me.”

Cortney’s first thought was, "Wow, someone really committed to the aesthetic."

As she drew closer to the Cybertruck, that's when her chuckle turned to a gasp.

She walked around the back and focused on the license plate. It wasn't a novelty plate. It wasn't a custom vanity plate. Nestled snugly next to the numbers and letters, there is a state emblem, an unmistakable sheriff's badge. And beneath it, in official-looking script, "COUNTY POLICE."

Her next thought, a split second later, was, "Imagine getting pulled over by that."

She chuckled to herself, already picturing the bewildered faces of drivers seeing this metallic flamingo in their rearview mirror.

I mean, what cop would drive that?

“An undercover cop" felt like an understatement. It was so overtly not a cop car that it looped back around to being the most effective undercover vehicle imaginable.

No one, absolutely no one, would suspect the bright pink Cybertruck. Still in shock, Courtney walked a slow circle around the back, just to confirm.

Yep, badge. Yep, county police. The sheer audacity of it was brilliant.

And, she had to admit, the color actually made the notoriously brutalist design of the Cybertruck look... cute.

Then, a movement inside the fast-food restaurant caught her peripheral vision. The doors swung open, and two police officers were walking her way.

This was not the time or place to be caught gawking at a pink police vehicle, no matter how magnificent.

What if they follow me, looking for any reason to pull me over? I was terrified, "Right," she muttered to herself, adjusting her pace. "Real quick, goodbye."

I didn’t even give the pink titan one last, admiring glance, knowing I need to be anywhere but there.

Her walk transformed into a brisk, purposeful stride, eyes fixed straight ahead, as if she hadn't just witnessed the most gloriously absurd piece of law enforcement machinery in existence.

She got in her Toyota Corolla and drove away before they came out and saw her, staring wide-eyed at their bright pink, surprisingly cute, undercover Cybertruck.

Courtney says in the video;

Here's me realizing: It's an undercover cop car.' Imagine getting pulled over by a Cybertruck

I was at a fast-food restaurant, and when I came out to get in my car, I realized, as I walked by a Tesla Cybertruck, that it was actually a police car. But, I would have never known, because it’s bright pink! I’ve never seen a pink cop car, have you?

I walked around the back, looked at the license plate, and sure enough, it has a sheriff’s badge on the plate, and it’s a county police vehicle.

I love the color, because it makes the truck look cute.

I’m going to do a real quick goodbye and just walk away before they come out and see me looking at this bright pink Cybertruck.

First, do the Police use the Tesla Cybertruck as police vehicles?

Yes. I wrote a story recently about police officers who left their gas patrol cars behind for a day, to test drive the Tesla Cybertruck.

Surprisingly, the Tesla Cybertruck and other Tesla models were a big hit, with police officers. Some even said they never want to return to their gas cars.

One officer, initially skeptical, shared his experience:

"The difference is absolutely staggering. I don't want to go back to this (ICE car) now. After driving the Tesla modified package, this (ICE police car) just feels so much more sluggish. The Tesla is just honestly far superior."

However, the officer's experience driving the Tesla models for one day was insufficient to determine if the Tesla Cybertruck would make a suitable police vehicle.

As the officers in my report described, there were significant challenges due to the small interior space, 'smart car' features, and the truck’s profile that limited maneuverability.

In The End

One police department near Los Angeles, where Courtney lives, bought a Tesla Cybertruck and is using it as a police vehicle. So, if you see a bright pink Cybertruck, slow down, obey the speed limit, and don’t stare.
