2015 Subaru WRX STI launch takes Philippines by storm

The all-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI and 2015 WRX made its debut in the Philippines this weekend at Manila International Auto Show 2014 (MIAS).

The all-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI and 2015 WRX are truly global performance cars. Subaru Philippines has launched the all-new WRX and WRX STI performance sedans at the 10th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Performance fans in the Philippines were excited about the new-generation cars launching in their country.

Manila International Auto Show 2014 is held at the prestigious World Trade Center in Manila. Auto fans flocked to see the new cars and WRX and WRX STI were huge draws for performance fans in the Asian country. Subaru also brought their full lineup of all-wheel-drive cars that will be offered for the Philippine market.

Subaru put on a good show for MIAS guests to check out the new performance cars. Numerous activities were available including Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive off-road course at the World Trade Center front lawn. World renowned professional stunt driver, Russ Swift, got his hands on the 2015 WRX and WRX STI for the Russ Swift Stunt Show.

Swift was there to show his precision driving show at the rear driveway. Swift used both new performance Subarus for his jaw-dropping display of driving skills, including some surprises as to his vehicle choices for the performance. Subaru also had an S AWD course for attendees to check out the performance cars all-wheel-drive capabilities.

The all-new 2015 WRX STI uses a limited-slip, planetary gear-type center differential, augmented by an electronically controlled center limited-slip differential. This provides for a performance-oriented 41:59 torque split. This allows the mechanically limited slip differential to have a quicker response and activates just prior to the electronic limited-slip differential.

The 2015 WRX STI DCCD AWD System has three automatic modes: “Auto” provides optimal performance for all conditions. The “Auto” (-) Active Sport setting shifts the torque bias to the rear and also opens the center limited-slip differential (no locking factor), which improves steering feel for performance driving on the track.

The all-new Subaru 2015 WRX and 2015 WRX STI have arrived in the Philippines. The S AWD course at Manila International Auto Show 2014 was the perfect venue to show off the performance cars capabilities. And Subaru gave MIAS guests a closer look at the full line-up of vehicles available to the Philippine market.
