All-new build your own 2015 Subaru WRX STI configurator goes live

The all-new 2015 Subaru WRX and 2015 Subaru WRX STI configurator is live and buyers can build their own new performance car.

Even though sales of the outgoing Subaru WRX model are going strong, the new-generation 2015 Subaru WRX and 2015 WRX STI configurator is now online. Buyers can now build their own 2015 WRX/STI with the new online tool. Subaru has released all the information on the new WRX/STI and it’s ready for buyers to make their choice. Which one would you chose?

Do you want the the 268 hp 2015 WRX with the new 2.0-lier boxer turbo, or the 2015 WRX STI with the 305 hp 2.5-liter powerplant? Both will be fun cars to drive, but it depends if you want the higher horsepower STI with the driver controlled center differential (DCCD), STI functional rear wing and the extra stopping power with Brembo braking system.

You can’t really go wrong with either car if you are a performance fan who wants performance, power and all-wheel drive for any conditions. The only other real choice out there is the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X and it’s being discontinued after the 2015 model year. The WRX and WRX STI are still the best Rally-bred cars out there with their racing heritage built into every model. And WRX is still one of the best performance values for the dollar.

WRX will come in three trim levels for buyers to choose from. Base WRX starts at ($26,295), WRX Premium, ($28,495), and WRX Limited ($29,995). The 305 hp WRX STI base model starts at ($34,495) and WRX STI Limited ($38,495).

WRX Premium upgrades with power tilt/sliding-glass moonroof, fog lights, rear spoiler and heated front seats. WRX Limited gets leather-trimmed seats, light-emitting diode (LED) headlights and keyless entry and ignition. WRX STI Limited upgrades with leather-trimmed seats, power tilt/sliding-glass moonroof and 18-inch BBS aluminum alloy performance wheels.

As options, the 6-speed manual WRX can be ordered with four Sport Package extras. When ordering a 2015 version of the Subaru icon, performance fans can upgrade with these “must-haves” from Subaru Tecnica International. Unique STI 17-inch black wheels, 6-speed manual short throw shifter, aluminum and leather STI Shift knob and a Cat-back performance exhaust system.

Of course we know, many WRX/STI performance enthusiasts will be getting other aftermarket mods to bump up the horsepower even more on the iconic cars. Very few older WRX and WRX STIs can be found that remain virgin. To begin building your own 2015 Subaru WRX and 2015 WRX STI, the configurator is now live and can be seen at this Subaru website.
