November Camaro of the Month: Edward Brock's 1968 Camaro SS

Each month, TorqueNews works with the members from the Camaros Unlimited Facebook page to select our Camaro of the Month. The process begins with the members of the Camaros Unlimited Facebook page – more than 41,000 of them – nominating their favorite Chevrolet Camaro owned by a fellow member of the page. Once five (sometimes six) cars/owners have been nominated, the voting begins and when the balloting closes – we have our Camaro of the Month.

For November 2017, the Camaro of the Month is the 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS shown above, which is owned by Camaros Unlimited member Edward Brock. We spoke to Edward about his stunning 1st gen Camaro and below, you will find the information on this awesome classic muscle car.

The Story of Edward Brock’s 1968 Camaro SS
I bought my 1968 Camaro SS back in 2008 and since buying it, I haven’t changed anything. I loved everything about the car, from the exterior color to the engine build. I had a 1968 and 1969 Camaro when I was 19 years old, but I sold them and I have regretted that ever since.

Under the hood is a 454 cubic inch big block, bored .030 over, fitted with worked cylinder heads, a Quick Fuel carb, long-tube headers, a 3-inch exhaust system with Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers and electric exhaust cutouts. The power from that monster big block is sent through a Cooks-built Turbo 350 transmission with a 3,500 PTC convertor to the 3.42 rear gears, while 17-inch American Racing wheels put the power to the ground.

The exterior paint color isn’t from any chart, so we call the color of my Camaro Dink Blue.

I bought this Camaro because I love going to car shows, especially with a great-looking classic muscle car.
