Tesla Has Already Identified Some Sites for a South Korean Gigafactory

Very interesting things are happening about the location of Tesla's next gigafactory or gigafactoires. Because while there were increasing number of reports that Tesla is on the verge of announcing the location of Gigafactory Mexico, I just learned from a South Korean source that Tesla has already identified some sites for a South Korea Gigafactory. This means either Tesla is thinking of several Gigafactory investments about the same time, or thinking between Mexico and South Korea. However, Indonesia is still a very strong contender, here is why.

Tesla's next gigafactory location may be in South Korea.

I just learned that South Korea's municipal governments are already angling to be the host after Tesla revealed its plans to site another production plant in Asia. And Tesla has already identified some sites for a potential South Korean Gigafactory.

The country’s Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy has concluded gathering information on potential sites from all 17 leading local authorities, as reported by The Korean Economic Daily. The data will be forwarded to Tesla before the year ends.

“It is a step to give more information by providing more options to Tesla, although the company has already identified some sites,” said an official from the ministry. “We found some competitive sites that we have not even thought of before.”
