Toyota has been having a great time with the slowest “new generation reveal” in the history of the automotive industry.
Over the past several months, we have been given a handful of teaser video clips and pictures about 2022 Tundra and what we can expect.
We have learned 2022 Toyota Tundra will have “iFORCE MAX”, larger multimedia screens, tough and rugged styling, LED lighting, TRD Pro, panoramic moonroof, red interior, multi-terrain select, coil spring suspension, and a handful of other tiny snippets and teasers.
Oh, and we have learned there will be a useful new wireless charging feature. With a phone that reads “9:19”.
As they say in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, “This means something.”
But what?
When is the Toyota Tundra reveal?
I thought when Toyota released this picture of a wireless smartphone charger, with the time 9:19 on the phone, I was the only person who suspected a September 19th next-gen 2022 Tundra reveal date.
I could not have been more wrong. There were many, many others with the same suspicions. You can find their comments all over social media.
Shane said. “9:19 on the phone. I’m guessing the reveal date is 9/19.”
Nickfxbb asked. “So, a Sept 19th reveal?”
D_mo_2 commented. “9:19. September 19th release date?”
Ryanmcneal88 is excited and anxious. “Sept 19th seems too far away. Need the new Tundra yesterday.”

“Is 9/19 the release date since that’s the time on the phone?” Asked mattrau27.
“The September reveal date, I assume, is now being confirmed here.” Suspected suckerpunch_motorsports.
And then there is this one. Billy.by questioned, “What’s happening Sept. 19th? Or is that just a random time?”
2022 Toyota Tundra Details
Yes, the 2022 Tundra could be revealed on September 19th.
But Tundra details could also be released on a day other than September 19th. Perhaps that is just the time that was on the phone when the photo was taken.
Have you ever walked into a store like Target or Walmart, and you see the alarm clocks all sitting there ready for purchase? Most of the clocks say 12:08 on the box cover.
For some reason, that is just the time chosen as the most effective to sell an alarm clock. Probably because it displays different number layouts and is aesthetically pleasing.
What if the phone in the Tundra interior said 12:08? Would that mean the release date will be December 8th?
Or what if this now-famous smartphone just happened to read 10:07? Or 9:23? Or 10:01? Would that mean a reveal is scheduled for October 7th or September 23rd or October 1st?
Time for your Toyota Tundra Comments
According to the Toyota Tundra picture, the 2022 Toyota Tundra release date (or reveal date) will be in exactly 19 days.
In my opinion, I feel the Toyota marketing department is so clever that they chose the time 9:19 for a reason.
It certainly appears I am far from the only one who has suspected this. At least judging from the many people commenting similar things on Toyota social media platforms.
Of course, I could be wrong, and we will get the Tundra 2022 details we have been craving a different day. Perhaps sooner. Maybe later.

What if they release it on October 4th at 9:19 Central Time??? That would mean 10:4 good buddy.
I'm thinking September 20th for the revealing. Just a random date...

After close examination of the picture, I'm on board with a 9/19 reveal date. I say this because on the iPhone, there was no date, and most of the time iPhones have the date right below the time unless they turned it off I guess.
