Apparently capitalizing on its successful racing support, Audi has launched a new line, of performance parts at the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA), show that opened Monday in Las Vegas. Using the knowledge it gained from decades of motorsports competition, the automaker announced Audi Sports Performance Parts, a new Audi brand. It caters to the newly introduced Audi TT RS and the Audi R8 V-10.

Brand specifically created for the Audi TT RS

Audi created the Sports Performance Parts brand for those who want to get the most out of their Audi TT RS models. The parts brand concentrates on four areas:

  • Suspension
  • Exhaust
  • Exterior
  • Interior

According to the automaker, the parts offered help to fine-tune the handling and braking characteristics of the TT RS.

For example, you can obtain parts that enhance the suspension, making it firmer and enabling to maintain its balance through turns and corners. Audi TT RS owners who campaign their vehicles can purchase a two-way adjustable coilover suspension that enhances the handling characteristics of the two-place coupe.

Chassis bracing available to build added stiffness

Another handling enhancement, additional chassis bracing, for even more anti-roll stiffness is available. The bracing helps to keep the wheels firmly in place when the going gets tight. Brake system enhancements will help drivers control their vehicles as the slide through corners, even in heavy traffic.

A set of 20-inch lightweight performance wheels, equipped with sports tires, puts more tread on a track surface for improved handling. And, in an area that is easy to overlook, Audi has developed a set of subtle wind-tunnel-tested aerodynamic enhancements that produce extra downforce at speed keeping delivering an exceptionally stable racing platform. The TT RS benefitted in another way from the wind-tunnel testing, brake cooling. As part of the testing, Audi engineers developed ducting that puts more cooling on the brakes for better performance at speed.

On the inside, buyers can obtain enhancements such as an Audi Sport Performance steering wheels that come with a set of carbon shift panels.

Titanium exhaust increases overall performance

Another improvement that will help in coming out of turns and corners and blasting ahead on straightaways is the Audi Sport Performance titanium exhaust. Like as not, the new exhaust system encourages better engine scavenging to extra all the power available, while also supporting freer breathing which enhances overall performance.

The new parts are, as noted, available for the TT RS and R-8 V-10. The parts will be available from select U.S. dealers. Audi will be doing some last-minute fine-tuning to its parts offerings. A complete catalog and pricing will be available when the line officially launches shortly.
