What the Tesla Robotaxi Vehicle Will Look Like

We have a rendering of what the new robotaxi vehicle will look like for Tesla and share what this vehicle will have (and not have).

Tesla Robotaxi Vehicle

One thing that hasn't been discussed enough lately is the Tesla robotaxi vehicle. The reason for this is that Tesla FSD is still in beta, and there are many who think it will never achieve a full self-driving system that doesn't require human intervention.

I agree that the problem is incredibly difficult, but I also think we are just a couple of years away from the first robotaxi rides happening in a Tesla vehicle without a driver. Tesla is closer than most people think, and it is just a matter of data now.

Someone posted a rendering of the Tesla robotaxi vehicle on Twitter, and this was one of the best renderings I've seen. The reason I like it is that it shows the robotaxi vehicle with two seats only. This is something that hasn't been brought up very much.

Having two seats means the vehicle can be much shorter. The vehicle will also not have a steering wheel, which will mean the vehicle can be shorter still. Think of a Model 3 without a back seat area. That's what the robotaxi vehicle is going to be.

When Is It Coming Out?

This robotaxi vehicle is most likely going to be produced at Giga Texas along with the next generation platform 3 vehicles, which will have 4 seats, but still be smaller than a Model 3 and Model Y respectively.

I think the robotaxi vehicle will be unveiled sometime late next year and then will release sometime in 2025 or early 2026. Once this vehicle releases, it's going to be very interesting for a couple of reasons.

The first reason it will be interesting is that I wonder if Tesla will simply let these vehicles drive around and not offer them for purchase. If Tesla allows them to be purchased and takes a cut of revenue, but the owner has to manage the robotaxi, that is also interesting. People can take part in the autonomous revolution by buying a robotaxi.

It will also be interesting because the price of this vehicle should be below $20,000. The reason for this is that there are no pedals, steering wheel, back seat, and probably a few other things that are standard in every Tesla vehicle. The car will most likely have a Cybertruck like exoskeleton and not require paint. This will also reduce cost.

If this vehicle is indeed under $20,000, I am definitely going to get one. The big question I have is: how will the vehicle charge and get into a garage? Will there be a way to get it into a parking spot somewhere to charge or will there be a screen command that says go to the nearest supercharger where it will find a stall and get charged that way. I think that may be the case, actually.

This vehicle isn't meant to sit around at all, and I expect that it will be driving most of the time and the only time it will stop is to charge, get its tires rotated, get new tires, repairing a windshield, or have some kind of replacement done with a cabin filter. That's it. Other than that, it should be driving around all the time. I don't think this car will need a back window, either.

What do you think? Will this vehicle that is a robotaxi come out in 2025 or 2026?
