The 2021 Subaru Outback hits a new milestone for the Camden, N.J. automaker. Subaru of America sold its 2.5 millionth Outback built at the plant in Lafayette, Indiana. Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) is the only Subaru production plant outside of Japan, and is trying to keep up with the popular Outback demand here in North America.

Why is the 2021 Subaru Outback so popular?

There are multiple reasons why SUV shoppers buy more Outbacks than any wagon in America. The Outback is selling well because it has agile driving dynamics, fuel economy, and new safety tech features. A new generation of buyers and loyal Subaru enthusiasts are attracted to the SUV-alternative multi-purpose vehicle.
