Subaru Has One Top 10, Adds A New SUV To The 20 Most Researched Models

Where do the 2023 Subaru Forester, 2023 Outback, and 2023 Crosstrek land in Edmunds' most researched cars list? They all disappear from the top ten except one surprise model, two SUVs make the top twenty, and a new Subaru SUV makes the list for the first time.

Are you shopping for a new 2023 Subaru Forester, 2023 Outback, 2023 Crosstrek, or 2023 Subaru Solterra? Interest is back for the surprise Forester compact SUV, which is now number ten on the updated Edmunds list of the most researched new cars. The Outback midsize SUV now moves to number sixteen, and the Crosstrek subcompact SUV is number eighteen.

The Forester moves up the top ten most researched cars.

The Forester, due for a remodel, is now the tenth most researched new car. Customers want the 2024 Forester that gets a complete remodel, but the new upgrades have yet to be announced. Forester will get updated exterior styling, interior upgrades, infotainment, and next-generation safety features. Subaru is tight-lipped about future product plans, but sources tell us the new compact SUV will get new engine upgrades. Stay tuned for more information.

The 2023 Subaru Solterra EV makes the list for the first time.

Subaru's first-ever electric model, the 2023 Subaru Solterra, makes the top 20 most researched cars for the first time. The Solterra is now number seventeen.

What does Edmunds say?

"At long last, Subaru has gotten into the EV game with its all-new 2023 Solterra SUV. It comes from collaborating with Toyota, which builds its related bZ4X EV in the same plant. As with its Toyota sibling, the Solterra has some great selling points and drawbacks."

What sets the Solterra apart?

Customers looking for a battery electric vehicle will get a Solterra with all-wheel-drive all-weather performance, fun-to-drive, unique vehicle balance in severe conditions, and top safety scores. Subaru infused the 2023 Solterra EV with its core values, not those of other automakers.

The Solterra comes standard with Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel-drive, dual-function X-Mode for all-weather performance, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and standard EyeSight safety technology, up to a 228-mile range.

The all-wheel-drive Subaru Solterra is now in the top twenty most researched cars because it's designed for Subaru's customers looking to have some fun in the snow and for off-pavement excursions with their electric SUV.

What's next for Subaru's new models?

Subaru of America will launch the all-new 2024 Subaru Impreza compact hatchback and redesigned 2024 Subaru Crosstrek subcompact SUV before the new Forester.

New Impreza models will make their U.S. retailer launch this spring. The all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Base and Premium trim levels will arrive later this spring. The next-generation Crosstrek Sport and Limited trims come this summer.

New vehicle shoppers are now most interested in the 2023 Subaru Forester compact SUV, followed by the Outback midsize SUV, all-new Solterra EV, and Crosstrek subcompact SUV.
