Secret STI revealed: It’s the 2015 Subaru WRX STI Global RallyCross car

Subaru teased us yesterday with an image of a 2015 WRX STI that they said would be revealed at the New York International Auto Show 2014. We thought it would be a race car, and it is. It’s the 2015 Subaru WRX STI Global RallyCross race car that will compete in the RallyCross Championship this year.

The new 2015 WRX STI Global RallyCross race car is all-new and has just been finished. It’s already been tested by Sverre Isachsen and Bucky Lasek two of the Subaru Puma RallyCross team drivers and they like what they see.

The all-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI RallyCross car is getting ready for the upcoming Global RallyCross season, here is a first look at the new car in race form. Vermont SportsCar prepared the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI race car in their shop and they are preparing for the Red Bull Global RallyCross season opener in Barbados which in only a month away. The race takes place May 17-18 at the Top Gear Festival, Barbados.

Subaru has done an excellent job of hyping the new 2015 WRX STI production performance car along with the milder WRX since the beginning of the year. So it should be no surprise that the Japanese automaker along with STI brought the new Global RallyCross race variant to it’s largest market, the U.S. The New York Auto Show is the perfect venue to garner even more attention for the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI.

The new 2015 WRX STI will be driven by Sverre Isachsen and Bucky Lasek who began testing the race car last month are extremely eager to get back into the extreme action at the Red Bull Global RallyCross season opener in Barbados. Travis Pastrana will join the team June 7 at the X Games, in Austin, Texas also driving the new 2015 WRX STI.

It should be an exciting season as Vermont SportsCar has prepared this car for the upcoming Red Bull Global RallyCross season. It all starts on May 17 at the Top Gear Festival in Barbados.
