How well is the next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek doing in North America? I covered the Crosstrek’s impressive year-end sales report for Subaru of America, but how is the newly redesigned Crosstrek doing north in Canada? 

As I said in a previous report, the Subaru Crosstrek subcompact SUV is on fire in the U.S. market. The hot Crosstrek set two new records to finish in 2023. It was the best-ever December and year ever for the new Subaru Crosstrek.

How well is the Subaru Crosstrek selling in Canada?

Subaru Canada reports that the next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek also recorded its best-ever December, with Crosstrek up 13.7 percent over December 2022.

The Canadian report says the Crosstrek is a favorite pick up north, and the small SUV “continues to win over buyers with new-for-2024 refined comfort, bold new design, and tons of standard features. The Crosstrek Wilderness joins the lineup as the most rugged and adventure-ready Crosstrek ever built.”

“With capability enhancements including increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and improved approach and departure angles, the Crosstrek Wilderness can go further off that beaten path than ever before.”

Subaru Crosstrek Performs Best When The Temperatures Drop 

When the snow flies in Canada, the temperatures drop, and the snow gets deep. What sets the Crosstrek apart from other small SUVs is its 8.7 inches of ground clearance (9.3 inches on Wilderness), it features Subaru’s Symmetrical all-wheel-drive technology, has X-Mode for all-weather capability, and dual-function X-Mode on some trims for severe weather capability.

My Take

With the all-new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness in the subcompact SUV lineup, I expect the Crosstrek to be the top-selling small SUV in North America in 2024. More small SUV customers with active lifestyles want to escape civilization and get further off the grid. Overlanding and camping are prominent in the Northeast, Mountain states, the Pacific Northwest, and the Canadian Rockies.

How well is the next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek doing in North America? Better than Subaru Corporation could have hoped.
