How Subaru adds 5 new features and holds line on new XV Crosstrek pricing

Subaru added new features on the new 2015 XV Crosstrek gas and hybrid models but only gets a small increase in price. How did they do it?

There’s good news if you are in the market to buy a new SUV or multi-purpose crossover. The Japanese Yen has been steadily dropping creating a more favorable exchange rate against the US dollar. Because Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. makes 80 percent of its vehicles in its home country of Japan compared with 21 percent for rival Honda their profits are up and they can hold the line on pricing.

That’s good news for Subaru car buyers across the U.S. and Canada. Subaru announced pricing on the 2015 XV Crosstrek multi-purpose vehicle and it only gets a modest price increase of $300 for the base XV Crosstrek 2.0i that starts at $21,595. And the 2015 XV Crosstrek Hybrid pricing holds the line at $25,995. XV Crosstrek gas and hybrid models are a unique blend of crossover and wagon and offers utility and all-weather capability because of its standard all-wheel-drive.

What’s new for 2015?

2015 XV Crosstrek gets a number of new added features for the new model year. The new Premium and Limited trim levels feature the updated Subaru STARLINK Multimedia system. The hybrid model is one of the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive crossover utility vehicles in America, and gets an increase in fuel mileage delivering 34-mpg EPA-estimated highway fuel economy.

New interior upgrades

XV Crosstrek now features an updated, sportier instrument panel including a multi-function display with a trip computer located in the center of the dashboard. Welcome Lighting is now standard on XV Crosstrek Limited, Hybrid and Hybrid Touring models.

New technology on XV

The XV Crosstrek 2.0i, 2.0i Premium and XV Crosstrek Hybrid models offer a new 6.2-inch touch display with rear vision camera, swipe and scroll multi-function control for audio and other features. XV Crosstrek 2.0i Premium with EyeSight and 2.0i Limited also get new STARLINK 7.0” Multimedia system with standard system’s features plus 7-inch multi touch gesture display screen, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (subscription required), voice activated controls and dual USB ports (6 speakers). A color LCD in the gauge cluster has been added. EyeSight is now available on XV Crosstrek Premium models paired with STARLINK 7.0 Multimedia Plus for $1,295.
