Will Subaru keep the manual transmission in the next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, or will they drop it? A new report from Drive says Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read told them Subaru Corporation is working on keeping the 6-speed manual gearbox in the new Crosstrek, WRX, and BRZ.

According to the latest Consumer Reports study, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is still the number one most fuel-efficient small SUV if you need an all-wheel-drive vehicle.

The Subaru Crosstrek uses direct injection on its new 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine and gets 27/34 city/highway mpg and 29 combined mpg. The 2.0-liter engine gets 28/33 mpg and 30 combined mpg with the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic, contributing to better mileage.

9. Subaru Crosstrek has various standard features, including Bluetooth connectivity and a touch screen display.

All Crosstrek trims come standard with Subaru Starlink, a 6.5-inch Multimedia system with touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, power windows, door locks, and side mirrors, 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, multifunction display with fuel economy information, tilt and telescoping steering column, keyless entry, security system with engine immobilizer, and carpeted floor mats.

The Subaru Crosstrek scored two of Kelley Blue Books' top awards. The compact SUV earned the Best Resale Value Award and 5-Year Cost to Own Award. The 2023 Crosstrek small SUV holds its value better than all other Subaru vehicles in the lineup. It is the lowest cost-to-own vehicle in the popular Compact SUV / Crossover category.

KBB says the Crosstrek compact SUV has the best resale value for any segment car. At 36 months, Crosstrek retains 63.7 percent of its value, and at 60 months: 49.3 percent. Crosstrek beat the all-new 2019 Toyota RAV4 and the newly-redesigned Subaru Forester to take the honors.

What is the price of the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek?

All 2023 Subaru Crosstrek trim levels get a $600 price increase, including destination and delivery fees.

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek now comes in six trim levels for U.S. customers. The base trim is priced from $24,870, Premium, ($26,020), new Special Edition ($27,970), Sport ($29,220), Limited ($30,720) and Crosstrek Hybrid ($38.070). Prices include destination and delivery fees ($1,225).
