The Chevrolet Camaro was one of the very first Hot Wheels diecast cars back in 1968. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 1968 Hot Wheels Custom Camaro, Mattel and Chevrolet have teamed up to create the 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition. This new package follows the 2013 Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, coming with a list of unique standard features and special badging – drawing the attention of Camaro fans and Hot Wheels fans alike.

Those fans hoping to buy the 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels package wont have to wait much longer, as General Motors has announced that this stunning limited edition orange muscle car will officially go on sale on February 1st.

“Since the Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition debuted last October, we’ve been overwhelmed with the passionate interest from Camaro and Hot Wheels fans alike,” said Todd Christensen, Marketing manager for Chevrolet Camaro. “We’re thrilled that the Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition will soon be hitting the streets, building upon an already formidable lineup that includes the Camaro Redline Edition and Camaro ZL1 1LE.”

The 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition Details
The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition is available with the 2LT and 2SS trim levels, in either coupe or convertible form.

On the outside, the 2018 Hot Wheels Camaro comes coated in the bright orange “Crush” hue with Satin Graphite stripes and ground effects. This package also includes 20 inch forged aluminum wheels with Satin Graphite painted pockets and a milled face, 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels fender badges, a special grille with chrome trim, orange Brembo brake calipers, smoked taillights, a black taillight panel with the Hot Wheels logo and black bowtie emblems front and rear.

Inside, the Hot Wheels package for 2018 adds Jet Black leather seats with orange inserts and orange stitching, orange seat belts, orange trim on the door panels, a 50th Anniversary badge on the steering wheel and illuminated door sill plates with the Hot Wheels logo.

Of course, these special components are in addition to the standard features of the 2018 Camaro 2LT and 2SS, both of which are premium trim levels. The 2LT comes with either the turbocharged 4-cylinder or the V6 while the 2SS Hot Wheels Camaro comes with the powerful LT1 V8.

Price and Availability
The only downside to the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition is the pricing, as this limited edition muscle car hits the lineup as one of the more expensive options.

The Hot Wheels package has an MSRP of $4,995. When applied to the Camaro 2SS coupe with the manual transmission, before any other options are added, the 2018 Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Camaro with the V8 starts around $48,000 while the 2LT with the turbo-4 and manual transmission starts around $36,000.

The 2018 Camaro 2SS convertible with the 8-speed automatic and the Hot Wheels package starts just south of $56,000, so while the package is gorgeous, it is not for those buyers looking for a bargain.

However, for those Camaro or Hot Wheels fans who are looking to score a gorgeous, limited edition muscle car with an unmistakable toy theme, the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition is a great new offering. If you are one of those people, who might want to head down to your local Chevy dealership on Thursday, February 1st to place your order.
