2019 Shelby Super Snake Mustang Delivers 800 Horsepower

The 2018 Ford Mustang GT got a new look and more power, so it comes as little surprise that the 2018 version of the Shelby Super Snake also gets a new look and more power – with the total output reaching a whopping 800 horsepower.

Over the course of the past few years, Shelby American has been offering their Super Snake post-title package for the Ford Mustang GT. For the 2018 model year, the Shelby Super Snake follows the same basic design as the previous model years, but it makes use of the added power and the new exterior design to stand apart from the 2015-2017 Super Snake.

2018 Super Snake
The highest performance package from Shelby American for the 2018 Ford Mustang GT begins on the outside, where the team adds a body that replaces most-to-all of the standard body parts. In standard form, the Super Snake features a unique front fascia, hood, side skirts, rear fascia, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser, but if you opt for the widebody package – the quarter panels and fenders are unique as well.

The appearance portion of the package also includes package-specific logo and stripes, a Shelby taillight blackout panel and unique wheels.

Next, the Shelby team tweaks the suspension for improved handling and proper control of the added power, while a Brembo braking package with six-piston front calipers, four-piston rear calipers and huge rotors all-around handling the stopping work.

Finally, the Super Snake package has two power options – one with 710 horsepower and a second with 800 horsepower. From 2015-2017, power topped out at 750, but for 2018, the max rating rises to 800 horsepower – enough power to allow this car to dash from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.

Rare and Expensive
As is always the case, Shelby American will only build a small number of 2018 Super Snake Mustangs, but production numbers aren’t what will make these cars rare. When you factor in the cost of the Ford Mustang GT on which the Super Snake is built, this car has a price in the range of $120,000. At that price, it costs nearly twice as much as the 650 horsepower Camaro ZL1 or the 707 horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, but for the Mustang fan who wants monster power – this is one of the best options on the market today.

Then there's the ACL recovery. Peterson came back in about nine months from his knee injury to win the MVP award in 2012. Gurley was back in a little more than 10 months. The Chargers get tight end Antonio Gates back from a four-game suspension without pay for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug. "Tom's competitive," offensive lineman Ryan Wendell said, "but he doesn't let anything get him down." Cruz was limited to four games last season after the major non-contact injury against the Eagles in October. It marked the second straight year that his season was cut short by a knee injury. He was limited to 14 games in 2013 because of surgery on his left knee. The sixth-round pick from Kansas saw action with the first unit at nickel cornerback. The Eagles are looking for a cornerback to take that starting spot after trading Brandon Boykin last week. "I thought Andy played a good football game, so I don't know what kind of criticism will be on the quarterback here," coach Marvin Lewis said. "I thought he hung in there."
Walsh also struggled as a senior at Georgia, going 21 of 35. Willis announced Tuesday he will retire after his 2014 season was cut short by a toe injury that required surgery and because of sore feet that make everything more of a challenge for the seven-time Pro Bowler. Backup DE Damontre Moore had five tackles and two sacks in his best game for New York. Thomas finished with five tackles and a sack against his former teammates. Jaguars backup middle linebacker Jeremiah George had a game-high eight tackles. A decade earlier, Thurman intercepted three of Lynn Dickey's passes to help Dallas beat Green Bay 37-26 in a playoff game on Jan. 16, 1983. He returned one of those picks 39 yards for a TD. "We've got to be better," Ryan said Wednesday. "There's no question about it." DAVIE, Fla. (AP) 鈥?The linebacker corps was the most unsettled area on the Miami Dolphins' defense when training camp began.
Fitzpatrick has been in Smith's shoes several times in his career, and can appreciate both sides of a quarterback situation. Just last season, he began as the starter for the Houston Texans before being pulled 鈥?and taking over again when Ryan Mallett was injured. METAIRIE, La. (AP) 鈥?The New Orleans Pelicans fired head coach Monty Williams on Tuesday, parting ways with a coach who has a strong relationship with the franchise's marquee player, Anthony Davis. Shields remains active in the Kansas City community these days. Along with serving on a bank board of directors, he owns and operates a training facility called 68 Inside Sports and spends time on his "Will to Succeed Foundation," which targets literacy and scholarship, seeks to foster creativity, and helps agencies that cater to abused and neglected women and children. "That's why I'm here, is to win championships," Tannehill said. "If I wasn't that, if these guys didn't believe in me, then I wouldn't be sitting in this chair. Overall, Bradford has 2,061 yards passing, a career-high 62.9 completion rate, 10 TDs and 10 interceptions. His passer rating (79.5) is fifth-worst in the NFL, though it's higher than Peyton Manning (75.6) and Andrew Luck (74.9). "You are playing a great team in front of a loud crowd," Rivera said. " ... Playing on the road late in the season at New Orleans and Atlanta should help us because they were basically playoff games for us. We'll just have to deal with it. They are a good team wherever you play them."
"I get the question a lot throughout town, 'Cooper or White?'" Carr said. "My answer is, the best player available. I don't mind who it is. Again, I want whoever we pick to come in here and help us win Super Bowls. If we take a receiver, great. He's going to know my expectations. If we don't' take a receiver, that guy is going to know my expectations. I don't care who it is." Peters has even gotten on the nerves of Chiefs coach Andy Reid, albeit in a good way. Reid tends to focus on the offense in practice, so he's been seeing a little too much of No. 22. The Cowboys showed how much the camp roster is in flux with their busiest day of transactions Thursday. REVIS ISLAND 鈥?THE SEQUEL: After the Jets' secondary was a glaring weakness last season, Maccagnan went out and made a splash by revamping the cornerback and safety spots. No move was bigger than bringing Darrelle Revis back, instantly giving Bowles a shutdown cornerback and welcoming home a franchise great. Revis played for New York from 2007-12 before a bitter contract dispute led to the Jets trading him to Tampa Bay. He signed with New England last year and helped lead the Patriots to a Super Bowl victory, but is now back where it all began for him. "There's plays where he's the primary target and the ball goes elsewhere," offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said. "Guys do different things in coverage. The quarterback looks a different way. Protection breaks down and (Wilson) can't hang on to it long enough, so there's so many things. Then the Colts tried to block out last weekend's big blunder and move on to the Saints.
"I appreciate the compliments, but again, it's really not about that right now for me," he said, regarding his legacy. "What it's about for me is this week and our matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. What's New: LeBeau was put in charge of the defense working with coordinator Ray Horton, and Orakpo leads four new starters. Mariota is the third QB this franchise has drafted in the top eight selections in a decade. Unlike Vince Young and Jake Locker, Mariota begins as the starter for a team desperate to bounce back from its worst season since 1994. Tennessee's youth movement likely features eight starters with two years or less NFL experience. "I guess they were trying to be funny and get to me," Bowles said. Phillips overcame a difficult upbringing. Because of family tragedies, including the death of his mother, he lived with the parents of a friend in high school near Wichita, Kansas. Officials are concerned about the team moving because Rams owner Stan Kroenke is working to build a new Los Angeles stadium. In January, the team went year-to-year on the lease for the Edward Jones Dome, which the state is still paying for. "I think I'd be lying to you if I told you any different. But saying that, that doesn't mean that we need to go hog wild doing something, either," Schneider said. "We are going to continue (to) address it as we go. It could be the draft. It could be a cap casualty in the summer. It could be someone who was just waived, it could be a trade yet. We'll never stop evaluating every position."
Carroll said the team may need to make a roster move to add running back depth before the game. Rod Smith would be the likely option to be elevated from the practice squad. He completed all of his six passes in the first half for 87 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown to Marvin Jones. McCarron jumped and screamed when Jones reached the end zone. Dowd said no, and Sultan sat down. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) 鈥?The Tennessee Titans had no chance to blow a lead for a third game in a row. If they had made a play or two late in those games, the Giants had a chance to be 6-1 going to New Orleans for Sunday's game against the Saints (3-4). He spent the previous four seasons in the same position with the San Francisco 49ers, where Roman oversaw one of the league's best running attacks.
"We have to be proactive in that way," Jim Harbaugh told a group of high school coaches at the Crisler Center on Michigan's campus. "Football's come under attack before. It's survived and it's changed rules, but there's no game like it, and we all know it. It's our responsibility to be great ambassadors for the game." Also Wednesday: Bortles has seemingly been trying to force things lately. All of which masks the impact and longevity of the New England Patriots boss, the winningest coach in postseason NFL history. "Players are husbands, fathers, sons and boyfriends. And as such want to set an example that makes clear that there is no place for domestic abuse in our society," players' union executive director Tony Clark said in the release. "We are hopeful that this new comprehensive, collectively-bargained policy will deter future violence, promote victim safety, and serve as a step toward a better understanding of the causes and consequences of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse." "It was to the point that I didn't know where I was going to play, or if I was going to play. I just really wanted to be on a team that has an opportunity to win," Lowery said. "I haven't been on a team that has been in that position in a long time. A team like this with all this talent, It's a beautiful situation."
