Tesla Semi Sightings at Giga Nevad Point To Newly Regained Production Momentum

Tesla Semi production gains new momentum with rare sightings at Gigafactory Nevada. Tesla has the next batch of Tesla Semis. Who will be the first to receive them?

Twitter user Hinrichs Zane has shared rare pictures of the Tesla Semi at Gigafactory Nevada, which makes me think that Tesla is slowly ramping up the production of Semi. It's still very slow, but at least it's moving. The images and videos are going viral and many people have liked and commented on them.

Hinrichs, who goes by Twitter name Zanegler, says "After a period of very slow production of Tesla Semi’s it looks like things are picking up again." He says he spotted 7 Tesla semis at the prototype line yesterday, the most he says he has ever seen at one time. All those Tesla Semis were with mfg plates and looked new. MFG license plates are special license plates issued to manufacturers for their own vehicles.

This tells me the supplier issues seem to be improving. Zanegler says these appear to be new and will be stress-tested by Tesla in order to uncover any potential issues before the next round of customer deliveries. They are running these Tesla Semi trucks hard!

So what about the production and who will get the next batch of Tesla Semis first?

Zanegler says soon Tesla will start producing semi’s again for customers. These will still be lower volume quantities similar to the 38 that were delivered to Pepsi. This confirms what I reported yesterday that Tesla is operating a Semi production line at Giga Nevada. Then I didn't know about these rare images that are going viral on Twitter now.

He writes "My reading of the tea leaves is that they will go to customers who placed large orders of Tesla Semi and are also willing to invest in the charging infrastructure. Walmart with its 130 Semi order seems a very likely candidate. PGE or UPS WITH orders for 150 and 125respectively are also candidates."

Thus, I think either in the 3rd or the 4th 2023 we should see these additional customer deliveries begin and we should see more Tesla Semi vehicles on the roads by the end of the year. Full production should ramp up only after Tesla finishes the 3.6 billion dollar investment in Gigafactory Nevada to build capacity for the production of Tesla Semi.

When do you think Tesla will really ramp the production of the Semi? How many Tesla Semis do you think Tesla will delivery in 2023 and how many in 2024?
