Three Reasons Why Newsweek Chose the 2023 Grand Wagoneer as Best Full-Size SUV

See why Newsweek Autos is impressed with both the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer L and find them to be the best full-size SUV.

This is the second year in a row that Newsweek Autos has chosen the Grand Wagoneer as the Best Full-Size SUV. The magazine says it is impressed with the whole 2023 Grand Wagoneer lineup, including its longer sibling called the L model and the Wagoneer by Jeep.

“For Grand Wagoneer to be recognized by Newsweek as the Best Full-Size SUV for two years in a row is a testament to what we set out to do every day – provide the most premium large SUV,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “This award is validation that the Grand Wagoneer is tops in its segment, offering unsurpassed performance and capability and premium materials and features, such as available Amazon Fire TV Built-in and exclusive McIntosh audio.”

First-Class Passenger Experience

Newsweek noted the Grand Wagoneer’s comfort level combined with the Wagoneer’s legendary 4x4 capability. It is difficult for a vehicle that size to be nimble, but the Grand Wagoneer is powered by the 510-horsepower Hurricane Twin Turbo 510 engine. It has a towing capacity of up to 9,800 pounds so it can be a workhorse, but it is a luxurious one.  The Grand Wagoneer has premium entertainment options for passengers and easy-to-use, driver-assist technology. In 2023, the Grand Wagoneer lineup added the L model that is 12 inches longer overall, with a 7-inch longer wheelbase.

The interiors of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are designed for the customers’ lifestyles. It has ports for technology and connectivity throughout. Wagoneers also have best-in-class overall passenger volume, total volume, third-row headroom, and second- and third-row legroom, as well as the most cargo volume behind the third row.

Newsweek Award for Best Family-Friendly Technology

Wagoneer by Jeep offers a rear-seat monitoring camera which is a huge help to the driver, so the driver can check on a child in a safety seat without having to stop the vehicle. There is a 10.25 front passenger interactive display, Amazon Fire TV Built-In and up to 75 inches of total digital screen area.

All Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs are equipped with the award-winning Uconnect 5 infotainment system.

Newsweek Award for Best Passenger Ecosystem

Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L are designed and engineered to provide unmatched comfort for up to eight passengers. There is also plenty of cargo room for oversize gear. The lineup offers three different 4x4 systems, so the driver can choose what level of off-road capability best suits his or her lifestyle. The different Wagoneer configurations offer best-in-class towing capability of up to 10,000 pounds, which again offers the driver the ability to choose what best fits the family’s lifestyle.
