Dodge wants everyone to know that its three-row SUV has muscle car DNA. The automaker is boosting the 2026 Dodge Durango horsepower, by adding more HEMI choices, and giving it a sportier look to go with it. After Stellantis tried to phase out the popular HEMI, the Durango was basically the only vehicle still available with one. Now a full HEMI lineup is coming back and the Durango will be the poster child for its powerful performance. Dodge is confirming that late in the year a 710-horsepower Hellcat HEMI will be available.
In 2026, the Durango models will range from efficient V-6 power to the performance of the SRT Hellcat. Durango will offer an option for every modern muscle-car enthusiast seeking performance paired with capability and flexible capacity. The Durango can be family friendly with up to seven seats, but it also can blow the doors off the average SUV. The added power gives the Durango best-in-class towing ratings. The 85 cubic feet of cargo space means that it is great for carrying all the soccer, baseball or hockey gear.
“The Dodge Durango is the three-row muscle SUV and is equipped with Dodge muscle car attitude, best-in-class towing at every trim and an ability to seat up to seven,” said Dodge CEO Matt McAlear. “The HEMI-powered Durango offers the only V-8 in its class and the most horsepower under $50,000. It's a powerful combination and customers value its unique proposition of power and performance, with retail sales up 64% in Q1 year over year. Now for 2026, we plan to continue to give our Dodge SUV customers easier accessibility to more performance and more capability.”
