Aston Martin Celebrates Sixty Years of Heritage with more than 15K Hand-Crafted Cars

In celebration of 60 years of the Aston Martin Works production in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire where between 1955 and 2007 an estimated 15,000 hand-crafted cars were assembled six Works 60th Anniversary models have been unveiled. Just last Friday the first of the six expected models was revealed to guest in attendance of the Aston Martin Christmas Party.

With each a bespoke design, the Works 60th Anniversary models are versions of the current Vanquish Super GT which will be offered in either Volante form (Convertible) or Coupe. Brought to life through the skilled hand of the Aston Martin design and engineer team along with the Q personalization and customization service each of the six models will vary slightly with all trimmed to celebrate each of the six decades of Aston Martin Works.

All six will exhibit custom paint and interior treatments each coming equipped with center-console dials made of specialty recycled metal from a piston of a rebuilt Aston Martin engine from one of the six decades from which it was in production. Each will also include badging as Works 60th Anniversary models with plaques signifying the decade the vehicle represents along with black and white Duotone seat panels and Yellow-accented side strakes and alloy wheels.

With only exterior and cabin interior enhancements all six of the Works 60th Anniversary models will come powered by the Vanquish stock engine- the 6.0-liter V12 power-plant supported by the Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic gearbox. Capable of speeds up to 200 mph with an acceleration of 0-60 in about 3.6 seconds this special edition auto is sure to garner the interest of the most serious of collectors and Aston Martin enthusiasts.

With production of the high end luxury brand now in Gaydon, and with Aston Martin Works now serving as the beloved British brands restoration facility, moving forward while evolving the brand into the future, Aston Martin looks to celebrate its heritage.
