Subaru WRX And STI Score Best-Ever May - A New Reveal Is Coming In October

The 2021 Subaru WRX and WRX STI have an impressive run before the next-generation models arrive. Check out what's coming in October.

Subaru of America (SOA) announced the 2021 Subaru WRX and WRX STI just had their best-ever May sales. It's impressive because the performance sedans are in the last year before a significant remodel, and the two performance sedans show no sign of slowing down.

SOA reports WRX and STI had 3,169 sales in May, increasing 40.5 percent over May 2020 with 2,255 sales. Year to date, WRX and STI are up 46.0 percent, with 11,918 sales compared with 8,163 last year.

The sport-tuned WRX and performance-tuned STI outsold the Impreza sedan and hatchback with 2,946 sales in May. The performance sedans also outsold the 2021 Legacy sedan, with 2,101 models delivered to customers.

Why are the WRX and STI still selling well?

Kelly Blue Book says Subaru is the Best Performance Brand in 2021. KBB says, "For the second year in a row, the audience has dubbed Subaru tops in this category, thanks in no small part to the WRX and WRX STI performance sedans. These models are a blast to drive, offering thrills at an affordable price."
