Subaru WRX And STI Are Now The Fastest Selling Used Compact Sports Cars

If you want to buy a 2021 Subaru WRX or WRX STI or a used model, you have to be quick. See why they are the fastest-selling used compact sports car in America.

Are you looking to buy a Subaru WRX or WRX STI? If you are looking for a used model, you have to be quick because a new report from iSeeCars says the two compact sports sedans are still among the fastest-selling used cars in America. They are number seventeen on the list of top-selling used models, and the fastest-selling used compact sports cars.

iSeeCars analyzed the top 20 fastest-selling used vehicles, and the average is 39.4 days to sell in May. The average Subaru WRX and WRX STI sell in just 27.5 days, faster than any other compact sports car

If you live in San Antonio, Texas, you will have an even harder time finding a used Subaru WRX/STI. The iSeeCars report says it takes just 13.3 days to sell one of the Subaru sports sedans in that city.

The WRX and STI are also among the fastest-selling sports cars and sports sedans, including the Chevrolet Corvette (21.8 days), the MINI Convertible (26.2), the Chevrolet Camaro (26.5), the Kia Stinger (26.6), the Porsche 718 Cayman (27.0), and the Porsche 911 (27.9).

The top 20 fastest-selling used vehicles average 25.5 days and sold 1.2 to 1.8 times faster than the average used vehicle. iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer says, "Sports cars were a popular vehicle segment throughout the pandemic as a source of joy, and their popularity has continued as the country opens up."

The 2021 Subaru WRX and WRX STI new cars are also in high demand and just had their best-ever May sales. It's impressive because the performance sedans are in the last year before a significant remodel, and the two performance sedans show no sign of slowing down.

If you are looking for a used Subaru WRX or WRX STI or new 2021 WRX/STI sports sedan, they are selling quickly, and you might not find the exact color or options you want. The price of used sports cars has also shot up this year, and you might pay a premium for a Subaru WRX or STI with low miles and in good condition.

"Car buyers who are making a new or used car purchase might have difficulty finding the most in-demand vehicles and may end up paying a premium for them in the used car marketplace amid microchip-related inventory constraints," said Brauer.

Subaru had the tightest inventory of any automaker in May, and the 2021 Subaru WRX and WRX STI are selling quickly. Good, clean used sport-tuned WRX and performance-tuned STI models are the fastest-selling compact sports cars in America.  Brauer says, "Consumers who are in the market for one of these fast sellers will need to act quickly when they see their desired car for sale."
