Subaru Teases “VIZIV Adrenaline Concept”; A New Subaru EV Preview?

Subaru announces a new VIZIV Adrenaline Concept will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show. Is this a new Subaru EV preview?

Adrenaline is a highly intoxicating substance released in the body that makes the human body capable of the impossible. It’s something hardcore, intense and insane, badass. It’s what Subaru Corp is bringing to the 89th Geneva International Motor Show. The Japanese automaker calls it the Subaru “VIZIV Adrenaline Concept” and it makes its world debut on March 5.

Subaru is mum about what the vehicle is about other than it teased the VIZIV (Vision for Innovation) Adrenaline Concept today ahead of its reveal next month. From the image released by Subaru, it doesn’t have a hood scoop, so it’s likely not a performance car. It looks to us like it’s possibly a new all-wheel-drive hatch with 8.7-inches of ground clearance. It’s pictured in a high mountain setting telling us it’s all about off-road adventure.

A new sporty fuel-efficient hatch would fit in well with the current all-wheel-drive lineup and could be a preview of a new all-electric model for the European and global markets. Last year, Subaru Corporation filed a U.S. trademark patent for use of the name “Evoltis” under code 1B, which means “intent to use.” The name could be used on Subaru’s new EV set to hit the market sometime in 2021. Could the Subaru VIZIV Adrenaline Concept be a preview of a new Subaru Evoltis EV?

Subaru will also bring two new European-spec electrified “e-Boxer” badged models to the Geneva Auto Show. The hybrid models will give the brand traction into the electric car market in Europe. The Subaru VIZIV Adrenaline Concept will be unveiled at the press briefing scheduled for 10:45 AM (Central European Time) on March 5 at Subaru booth. Is this a new Evoltis EV preview? Stay tuned.
