Does Subaru make reliable cars? For the 2022 model year, Subaru now has four models that score highest in their class, but one model still scores low. According to the latest Consumer Reports' (by subscription) ratings and reliability report, the 2022 Subaru Forester, 2022 Crosstrek, and 2022 Outback are the best SUVs in their category. The 2022 Impreza is best in the small car segment.

Consumer Reports assigns a predicted new-vehicle reliability score to each model on a scale of 1 to 100. Each vehicle's overall score for individual models is based on four key factors: the road test, reliability, owner satisfaction, and safety.

Gauging “reliability” of cars under warranty (especially under 1year old) is utterly useless and does not warrant a story disguised as “automotive news”.
