The Remodeled 2025 Subaru Forester - 10 All-New Hidden Interior Upgrades

What's new on the inside of the remodeled 2025 Subaru Forester? The Forester compact SUV gets a complete remodel from the ground up, and you may not like the exterior upgrades, but there are hidden features on the inside worth covering. 

I covered the new Forester redesign in a previous report, but there are more features on the inside that you need to look into. Here are ten new upgrades and improvements worth noting if you are waiting to buy the sixth-generation Forester. They will make your life more comfortable.

1. Wireless phone charging pad

An added available comfort feature includes a wireless phone charger in the center console for the first time on Forester. 

2. Ventilated front seats and heated rear seats

The Forester Touring trim now has ventilated front seats for the first time. You can also get heated rear seats with the top of the lineup Touring trim level. 

3. Better visibility

The Forester has always had the best visibility from the driver's seat, but it is improved in the sixth-generation model. Subaru says the front seats feature slimmed-down shoulder areas for better visibility and access to the rear seats.

4. Textured paneling in the rear

The Forester now has added textured paneling in the rear area for extra protection against scuffing. When carrying gear in the back, the side area is now protected.  

5. USB-C rear seat charging ports

Rear passengers can stay connected. Forester now has USB-C charging ports to keep their devices fully changed. 

6. More cargo room with steeper rear gate glass

Subaru says the cargo area offers 74.4 cubic feet of usable space with both seatbacks down. The wide rear gate opening with low lift-over height allows easy loading and unloading. The previous generation Forester had 69.1 cubic feet of cargo space (74.2 cubes in the Base trim). Subaru says it's due to the steeper rear gate glass. 

7. A quieter cabin

The all-new Forester has a quieter and more comfortable cabin, including approximately a 39 percent reduction in the rate of "noise attenuation" from the roof panel. Subaru says they created a quieter cabin without increasing the weight or fuel mileage. 

8. New climate control system

The vehicle's climate control system has been updated to focus on occupied seats (vs. entire cabin) for improved comfort and fuel economy.

9. Hands-Free Power Rear Gate

A kick sensor-activated hands-free power rear gate enables owners to open and close it automatically simply by placing their foot under the back bumper cover.

10. More cargo utility hooks 

New standard heavy-duty utility hooks in the rear cargo area offer a more comprehensive range of solutions for hanging points, lifestyle accessories, and more. There are eight locations, three on each side of the cargo space and two on the rear gate.

The 2025 Subaru Forester should stay a top pick for customers when it arrives in the spring of 2024. There's more to the new Forester than you can see at first glance.

Subaru says pricing for the all-new Forester will be announced closer to its on-sale date in spring 2024. Stay tuned.

Horribly intrusive and ugly TV screen dominating the cabin. Since it would be in my face all the time I am in the front seats of the vehicle that one feature means I will not buy a Forester this Spring. I can live with marginal power and a bit quirky exterior looks, but that screen ... Have they ever heard of knobs? You know, interfaces you can use while wearing gloves?
