Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series is scary good [video]

Mercedes-AMG is all about producing some of the best high-performance cars on the planet. This Orange and Black beauty is scary. The C63 AMG Black Series is a good example of how scary good the tuner really is. The AMG team in Affalterbach created the C63 AMG Black Series and it’s a scary thing when they get their hands on a car.

The C63 AMG Black Series is the spiritual successor to the 2008 CLK63 Black. But AMG gave the C63 lighter connecting rods, pistons and crankshaft to its hand built 6.3-liter V-8 for a monstrous 517-hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. It’s a “hairy-chested muscle car” with even more purposeful menace.

It’s a great time of year to bring out the Orange and Black C63 AMG Black Series pictured above. Although the Black Series can come in many colors. The Black Series coupe is exceptionally scary fast too. It will sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.2 seconds. That’s fast enough to scare anyone who is not ready for the potent coupe.

The chassis has been designed with coil-over suspension that came from Mercedes motor sports involvement. The pressure of the flow rates can be adjusted in the performance shocks to move the vehicle level depending on street or track situations. The driver can configure their own personal suspension setup especially developed for the race circuit.

The C63 AMG Black Series gets larger fade-resistant performance brakes, a special oil cooler that’s 50 percent larger to keep engine temperatures down, and a AMG sport exhaust system with chromed twin tailpipes at the rear apron. The transmission features four “Drive Modes” with a unique double-declutching function and Sport plus and Manual modes that allows gear changes in a mere 100 milliseconds.
