According to an updated J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study, Subaru of America's website is now the second best. With the low inventory of 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, Outback, Forester, and other new models, SOA still makes it easy for online car shoppers.

How easy it is to research a new Subaru online makes a difference for new-car shoppers. 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, Outback, Forester, and Ascent SUV customers shop online before ever visiting a Subaru showroom. Customers will go elsewhere if an automaker's website is not easy to use.

Subaru of America is one of the smallest automakers, and they rank number two best website behind number one Kia but ahead of Jeep, Honda, Toyota, Ford, and GMC.

What does it mean for new-car shoppers?

The new study measures the usefulness of automotive websites during online shopping for a new vehicle by examining four key measures (in order of importance): information/content, visual appeal; navigation; and speed. Subaru ranks second-highest in the mainstream manufacturer website segment with a score of 724. Kia ranks first with a score of 729. Jeep (721), Honda (720), and Buick (717) round out the top five mainstream brands.

The study finds that overall satisfaction averages 705 points (on a 1,000-point scale) for the mainstream segment and 711 for the luxury automotive car brand segment. Lincoln ranks highest among luxury manufacturer websites with a score of 737. Lexus (734) ranks second, and BMW (730) ranks third.

The Summer 2022 J.D. Power U.S. Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study is based on responses from 11,398 new-vehicle shoppers who indicate they will be in the market for a new vehicle within the next 24 months. The study was fielded from April through May 2022.

The J.D. Power Website Evaluation Study reveals customers shopping for a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, Outback, Forester or another new model will have a better experience than most other automakers’ websites.
