The Anticipation Builds As You Wait For The Next-Gen Subaru Impreza Hot Hatch

The 2023 Subaru Impreza sales went down again last month. However, the anticipation builds as buyers wait for the all-new 2024 Impreza. Check out the report here.

In February, the 2023 Subaru Impreza compact sedan and hatchback models continued declining sales. But, of course, it's not a surprise since the 2023 Impreza is going out, and the new model is coming soon.

Subaru of America (SOA) reports the aging Impreza had 2,591 sales in February compared with 3,520 compact models delivered to U.S. customers in February 2022. That's a decrease of 26.4 percent.

The Impreza continues its slide backward. The compact sedan and hatchback are down 21.9 percent in the first two months of 2023. Impreza again finished in fifth place in the lineup in February.

The good times are about to roll for new compact car shoppers.

Compact car buyers are waiting for the new models coming this spring. New model shoppers now have something to get excited about. The new 2024 Impreza all-wheel-drive compact hatchback arrives soon for U.S. new car shoppers. In addition, the Impreza finally gets its long overdue remodel.

Hatchback body style

Several new Impreza upgrades are coming, and customers will want to wait for the improved models. First, Subaru of America chose to drop the Impreza sedan, which was a smart move. Sedan sales are down across all automaker's lineups, and the hatchback body style offers the utility and efficiency small car shoppers are looking for in a compact vehicle.

A new 2.5-liter engine

The most significant improvement for the 2024 Impreza will be the new Impreza RS trim level, which gets a new 2.5-liter engine upgrade. The RS will be the model that breathes new life into the all-wheel-drive compact car. When Subaru of America offered the 2.5-liter engine in the Crosstrek subcompact SUV, sales shot through the roof. Expect the same positive results for the hot Impreza RS hatch.

Improved safety

Subaru is the safety leader, and the 2024 Impreza will be the safest compact car shoppers can buy. All Impreza trim levels will now come standard with Subaru's EyeSight driver-assist safety technology. The new generation 2024 Impreza has yet to be officially tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but it will earn the top crash scores.

What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Impreza?

The 2024 Subaru Impreza Base hatchback starts at $24,085, the Sport hatch starts at $26,085, and the all-new RS hatch with the 2.5-liter Boxer engine has a starting price of $28,975. Pricing includes destination and delivery fees ($1,090).

How much did prices increase?

The completely remodeled 2024 Impreza offers exceptional value. The Base hatchback price increased by $1,470. The Sport trim level price dropped $30, and the RS is all new for 2024, so there's no previous generation model for comparison. Dealer fees increased by $70.

Remember that even though the Sport trim price dropped, most customers will purchase the Sport trim with the option package. Check out the complete 2024 Impreza model guide in the link below.

The 2023 Subaru Impreza sales dropped again as the old model is out, and the new model is coming soon. The anticipation builds for the all-new 2024 Impreza all-wheel-drive hatchback that arrives this spring.
