The Aging Impreza Sales Jump The Most of Any Subaru This Spring - Here’s Why

The 2023 Impreza sales went up more than any other Subaru carline. However, the anticipation builds as buyers wait for the all-new 2024 Impreza. Check out the report here.

Why is the aging 2023 Impreza the best-performing Subaru model in March? The Impreza compact sedan and hatchback models are a surprise in March since the 2023 Impreza is going out, and the new model is coming soon.

Subaru of America (SOA) reports the aging Impreza had 3,802 sales in March compared with 2,329 compact models delivered to U.S. customers in March 2022. That's an increase of 63.3 percent. It was the highest percentage of growth of any Subaru nameplate last month.

Many customers aren't waiting for the remodeled 2024 Impreza hot hatch.

The Impreza compact sedan and hatchback are up 0.6 percent in the first three months of 2023. Impreza again finished fifth in the lineup, with 8,844 models delivered in the first quarter.

Why is the aging Impreza selling so well before the new models arrive?

Subaru of America is giving compact car customers an excellent incentive to buy now. Subaru offers 3.9 percent financing on specific 2023 Impreza models and a $255 monthly lease on some sedan trim levels. Subaru wants to move the remaining models, so many more buyers are taking advantage of the discounts.

The good times are about to roll for new compact car shoppers.

The new next-generation Impreza hatchback models are coming this spring. And new compact hatch shoppers have more to get excited about. The all-new remodeled 2024 Impreza all-wheel-drive compact hatchback arrives soon for U.S. new car shoppers. In addition, the Impreza finally gets its overdue remodel.

Hatchback body style

Several new Impreza upgrades are coming, and customers will want to wait for the improved models. First, Subaru of America chose to drop the Impreza sedan, which was a smart move. Sedan sales are down across all automaker's lineups, and the hatchback body style offers the utility and efficiency small car shoppers are looking for in a compact vehicle.

A new 2.5-liter engine

The most significant improvement for the 2024 Impreza will be the new Impreza RS trim level, which gets a new 2.5-liter engine upgrade. The RS will be the model that breathes new life into the all-wheel-drive compact car. When Subaru of America offered the 2.5-liter engine in the Crosstrek subcompact SUV, sales shot through the roof. Expect the same positive results for the hot Impreza RS hatch.

Improved safety

Subaru is the safety leader, and the 2024 Impreza will be the safest compact car shoppers can buy. All Impreza trim levels will now come standard with Subaru's EyeSight driver-assist safety technology. The new generation 2024 Impreza has yet to be officially tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but it will earn the top crash scores.

What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Impreza?

The 2024 Subaru Impreza Base hatchback starts at $24,085, the Sport hatch starts at $26,085, and the all-new RS hatch with the 2.5-liter Boxer engine has a starting price of $28,975. Pricing includes destination and delivery fees ($1,090).

How much did prices increase?

The completely remodeled 2024 Impreza offers exceptional value. The Base hatchback price increased by $1,470. The Sport trim level price dropped $30, and the RS is all new for 2024, so there's no previous generation model for comparison. Dealer fees increased by $70.

Remember that even though the Sport trim price dropped, most customers will purchase the Sport trim with the option package. Check out the complete 2024 Impreza model guide in the link below.

The 2023 Impreza sales increased more than any other Subaru carline in the percentage of sales performance. However, the anticipation builds as some buyers wait for the all-new 2024 Impreza this spring.
