It may not be as exciting as the running of the bulls in Spain, but the Subaru WRX S4 and Levorg sports tourer will run with the bicycles for the 2015 Japan Cup Cycle Road Race again this year. Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) manufacturer of Subaru vehicles has been involved with the bicycle event for 21 years now.
This year, around 50 Subaru support cars will support the bicycle teams as they navigate the race course as around 125,000 fans gather to watch the racers wind through Japan. Subaru is providing four support vehicles for race management using the WRX S4 performance sedan, Levorg sports tourer, XV crossover and Outback wagon.
MAVIC who provides the yellow livery for the Subaru vehicles, is a French bicycle wheel manufacturer based in Annecy, France. MAVIC produces wheels, tires, rims and apparel for road and mountain bikes. The bright yellow WRX S4 and Levorg have been a big hit with the fans who attend the races. The high-performance Subaru WRX S4 is the ideal vehicle for traveling without delay to the riders and helping with things like loading the equipment and the many spare bikes and wheels needed for mechanical trouble shooting during the race.
The support vehicle drivers will be able to put the new WRX S4 to the test as they follow the riders who will travel at speeds of 80km/h on the downhill portions of the race course. There are many elevation changes throughout the course which will be held in the Forest Park circuit course in Utsunomiya City. It includes a grueling mountain stage of 151.3km and runs through major urban centers.
This year marks the 24th year as the race has been held every year since 1992 in Utsunomiya near Gekiso. World class UCI teams from all over the globe will compete in the Japan Cup race that will be held October 17-18. Subaru is a special sponsor for the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race 2015 and will feature their 2016 WRX S4 performance sedan, Levorg sports tourer, XV crossover and Outback wagon.
