2015 Subaru WRX STI gets upgrades with no price increase

What could be better than an upgraded 2015 Subaru WRX STI? The all-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI is coming to the U.S. this spring and Subaru holds the base price of $34,495. How can Subaru produce the new-generation model of WRX STI and still keep the same price? U.S. and Canadian buyers get to benefit from the falling Yen compared to the U.S. Dollar. This allows Subaru to offer the new performance car with new upgrades but keep the same price for base models.

The new rally-bred sedans arrive in the U.S. with better performance. 2015 WRX gets a new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, direct injection turbocharged Boxer engine that now produces 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It also features a new 6-speed manual transmission or optional Sport Lineartronic.

2015 WRX also features a new torque-vectoring system that works with the standard symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive and stiffer chassis that delivers better stability, and improved high-speed cornering and handling.

Subaru’s global performance flagship model, the 2015 WRX STI, also offers a stiffer chassis for improved performance in the corners. Handling has been enhanced with firmer springs and quicker steering response (13.3:1 ratio) for improved control. It still features the 2.5-liter turbocharged Boxer engine producing 305 horsepower. Active Torque Vectoring has been added to the performance model’s proven rally-bred technologies.
