We saw two new 2021 Subaru Forester models and only one 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness on the lot. But all three were already pre-sold with “SOLD” stickers in the front windshields.
The global microchip shortage and Subaru plant shutdowns have created limited supplies and no inventory of some new models. The Forester and Outback have been the hardest to find Subaru models across the U.S., and few are available.
The 2021 Subaru Forester production has stopped as Subaru Corporation makes the switch to the refreshed 2022 Forester. There are a few still in the pipeline, but most are already pre-sold to customers. According to our sources close to Subaru, the new 2022 Forester models likely won’t arrive until January.
