Lamborghini issues a rolling chassis image of the Aventador LP700-4

The start of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show will offer the world a look at the newest Italian supercar when the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is officially unveiled and today, the Sant'Agata-based automaker has issued another look at the replacement for the Murciélago.

Before this newest picture was offered by Lamborghini, the company had previous shown off the monocoque passenger box, the engine, the gearbox and the high-tech suspension setup of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. They have also issued videos of the LP700-4 in motion (click here for more on that) and camouflaged images of the new supercar but this image, appropriately dubbed the V12 rolling chassis – gives us the best look yet at the next chapter in supercar greatness.

Clearly displayed in this newest image of the car that is expected to carry the name “Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4”, is the carbon fiber monocoque that we have seen before with the front and rear suspension and engine cradles bolted-up. Shy of the electrical components (lights, interior features, etc) the only major items not installed in this image are the body panels and when you consider just how incredibly fast today’s Lamborghinis are, it is amazing how few components go into making the car structurally sound and safe to the driver. All this car is really missing are the carbon fiber body panels, the doors and the glass – and once those are added, you are looking at one of the fastest cars on the planet.

While we cannot get a good look at the Aventador’s 700 horsepower V12 engine or the advanced all-wheel drive gearbox, we do get a great look at the location of the Aventador’s horizontally-situated suspension system which works to improve suspension and chassis rigidity by essentially bracing against itself. We also get a glimpse of the monstrous braking components that fill out the sexy black wheels of the new LP700-4.

The opening day of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show is quickly drawing near and upon the start of the Suisse auto show, we should have full details on the newest Lamborghini. Check out the gallery below for a closer look at the stripped-down shots of the Aventador from Lamborghini.
