The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Red Vapor is Sinister and Awesome

While the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT hasn’t changed all that much for the new model year, but the new Red Vapor special edition package brings about a sinister, sporty look for the new model year while all of the other attributes of the SRT Jeep make it the coolest SUV on the market today.

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT comes with a new active noise cancelling system and a little extra power, bringing the total to 475hp and 470lb-ft of torque, but the most noticeable addition to the 2015 Grand Cherokee is the Red Vapor package. This is purely an appearance package, but with changes insider, outside and under the hood – this is an extensive and gorgeous appearance package.

On the outside, the Red Vapor 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT wears a collection of gloss black items including the Black Chrome 20 inch 5-spoke “Goliath” wheels, the SRT badge on the rear gate, the Jeep badges on the front and rear, the Grand Cherokee badges on both front doors, the bezels in the lower front fascia and the upper grille inserts. The Red Vapor edition Grand Cherokee SRT is available in three colors - Redline Red Pearl Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat and Bright White Clear Coat – although the dark metallic red is the only color choice that makes sense to me.

On the inside, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Red Vapor sports a backlit SRT logo on the steering wheel center while the steering wheel bezel is finished in anodized silver. More Black Chrome is found throughout the cabin where chrome is found in other SRT Jeeps and a dose of Radar Red accents help this special edition SUV earn its name.

Finally, the Red Vapor Edition 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT comes with “engine beauty covers” trimmed in red so that even the high performance Hemi engine is uniquely appointed for this new package.

Chrysler hasn’t announced the pricing for this blacked out special edition high performance Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I expect that it wouldn’t be very expensive so were I buying a 2015 SRT Jeep right now – the Red Vapor package is definitely one that I would pick.

Old news, the Red Vapor package is an additional $3995.

The black part of the seat leather is Laguna leather (higher-end than the standard Nappa) and red inserts on it are "ultrasuede" as opposed to the standard suede. Also, they listed "Cushion #7" as one of the changes, which I assume is better quality seating cushion. My wife has Porsche Cayenne and complains my SRT seat is very uncomfortable. I assumed it was because it was designed for big fat Americans and she is a small Asian woman. Maybe Cushion #7 was the answer.
