2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Prices Surface Online, Increases in Price and Value

The pricing for much of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette lineup has been offered up by General Motors and while some prices remain the same or drop a bit, those numbers are overshadowed by a collection of pricing increases – although new standard features actually make the 2015 Stingray a better bargain across the board.

Since the seventh generation Chevrolet Corvette was introduced with the new look and the Stingray name, the car has been selling like crazy. The early rush for the 2014 Corvette caused a backlog that, at times, spanned months and one of the most popular features was the new Z51 package. Based on the popularity of that performance package, it should come as no surprise that there is a price hike for 2015, but it comes with new standard features that technically make it less expensive than the 2014 models when similarly configured.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Pricing
The news that everyone wants to hear is that the basic 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray fastback and convertible have the exact same base pricing as the 2014 models, with the 2015 fastback starting at $53,000 and the 2015 convertible starting at $58,000. On the other hand, the 2015 Corvette Z51 fastback and convertible each receive a $1,000 increase to their base price, with the fastback jumping to $58,000 and drop top model rising to $63,000. No one likes price increases, but it should be noted that for the 2015 model year Stingray, the dual mode performance exhaust system is now a standard feature of the Z51 package. This exhaust adds sound, 5 horsepower and 5lb-ft of torque to the Stingray and after coming as an option for $1,195 in 2014; it is standard in the Z51 package – meaning that the $1,000 increase is actually a decline compared to a similarly equipped 2014 model.

Whether or not 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray buyers opt for the Z51 package, both the fastback and convertible are available in 1LT, 2LT and 3LT trimlines with 1LT being the “base”. For 2015, the 2LT package price has dropped from $4,220 to $4,160 while the premium 3LT trimline has risen from $8,005 in 2014 to $9,450 – although the 3LT system comes standard with the new navigation/Performance Data Recorder that is a $1,795 option for 1LT and 2LT. In other words, the 3LT package pricing has jumped, but much like the Z51 package the 3LT comes with added value that offsets that pricing increase.

One more exciting piece of pricing information for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is the addition of the high performance 8-speed automatic transmission. While the 7-speed manual transmission is standard on all models, the new 8-speed transmission replaces the previous 6-speed automatic for the 2015 model year. This new gearbox should improve performance and fuel economy, but it does come with a price increase. The 6-speed automatic in the 2014 Stingray was a $1,350 option while adding the two extra gears on raises that price to $1,725 – an increase of $375 that will almost certainly be worth every cent.

Special Package Pricing Still Outstanding
While it looks like pretty much every aspect of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray pricing has been unveiled by General Motors, there are still three missing pieces of the puzzle. We have not yet seen the pricing of either of the Atlantic or Pacific styling packages, but we can expect them to be slightly more expensive than the loaded Corvette fastback or convertible because they are basically fully loaded models with a unique theme. As for the upcoming 2015 Corvette Z06, pricing is expected to begin somewhere in the area of $100,000 to $125,000 – with rumors and management comments suggesting both directions.

The z06 at current power levels will get a lot of the faithful looking at the current hellcat for half the price with more hp. If the Z was priced at a $85k base it would get more interest but still with only 650 hp the 2016 model will get a hike to 720 hp with the addition of a new supercharger probably the 2.7 from the current ZR1.

Higher horsepower means higher top speed, and higher torque means faster acceleration times. However, despite having the same torque and higher HP than the Z06, I doubt the Hellcat will be as fast as the Corvette by any measure, even in a straight line.

Did you read my comment? It was price related with the hellcat half of the Z. If you want to break down drag racing times the hellcat would have an 1 to 2 light advantage over the lighter vette and with equal torque the hellcat could possibly beat it especially in the 1/8 mile. They are two different cars and not apples to apples. 4400 lbs vs 3400 lbs -

Depends on what kind of car a person is looking for. Highest horsepower, or best package including outrageous horsepower. The cars aren't even in the same category.

Note the 435HP 2015 Mustang GT Premium package 400A is only around $40K with the performance package. The 465HP 2015 C7 with the Z51 performance package starts around $58K. Hmm, an extra $18K for 30HP and 400 lbs lighter weight? Not worth it. I can get that 30HP back with a CAI and tuner for $700 extra on the Mustang, not $18K on the C7.

As a Corvette Owner and enthusiasts since 1965, when will the 2015 Corvette Coupe final suggested retail pricing and order date be available. Are you again going to restrict Dealers from participating in the ordering process or will all Chevrolet Dealerships have the same opportunity to place a order?

If you offering the yellow brake calipers, why would you not offer the painted yellow body stripes?

I am going to order a "WHITE COUPE", having yellow brake calipers and I certainly think that offering yellow body stripes would also be attractive. Also, the yellow color stripes would look great on almost any body colors offered.

For what its worth, I read a article indicating that you can not order the suede headliner if you are picking up the Corvette in Kentucky, can you explain this dumb decision.

Respectfully,

AJ
