Late last night the world finally got it's first glimpse of the official C8 Corvette and we haven't been the same since. The 2020 C8 Corvette has supercar killing performance at "regular car" prices and it's blowing everyone's minds. For those of you who don't know the car has "only" 495 horsepower but manages to hit 0-60 in a blistering time which was revealed by GM to be "under 3 seconds."

State Of The Art Electronics Inside The 2020 C8 Corvette

The C8 Corvette has amazing performance, we know this, but the other pieces of the car that make it truly special are the electronics. One of the best features talked about at the reveal was the front end lift system. We have all seen this in one way or another: you press a button and the front end lifts to clean larger obstacles, but the C8 Corvette takes it one step further.

In this brand new Corvette, we are able to press the button for the front end to lift and also tell the car to always lift at that location (marked by gps) in order to automate the feature.

The C8 Corvette will also include a high definition backup camera as well as a high definition performance data recorder. Typically these cameras are 480p and while they work adequately, they leave much to be desired in a fully adopted high def world. With the 2020 C8 Corvette's new digital architecture the car is able to process data much quicker which leads to the digital speedometer being much more accurate and any shift lights being better timed for an overall better driving experience.

2020 C8 Corvette Price

This may be the best part of the new C8 Corvette. The starting price has been revealed by GM to be under 60k. The performance and technology this car will offer is quite amazing at any price point but at under 60k it's going to leave a lot of other supercar manufacturers running scared.

GM has also listed an option on their C8 Corvette page to reserve your own car and start the process early for getting one added to your garage. You can find this option by heading here.

The C8 Corvette Stingray will be available early 2020 and will likely start production in December of 2019. Be sure to head over to Chevrolet's website to start the order process of your very own C8 Corvette and be one of the first to have it in your garage.

Compared to European exotics, what Corvette lacks is Snob Appeal. Still, I doubt tripling the Corvette price tag would convince those who favor conspicuous consumption to buy one.

If the v8 changes to an electric motor and the batteries are in the center box of the chassis between the seats this would change supercars and leave European and Japanese in the dust. The question is will Tessa’s and GM do a join mind-blowing venture?

I don’t understand this crazy rush to electric cars motorcycles etc. Don’t talk environmental out of fuel or other not true issues.

There is a rumor that in addition to the twin turbo Z06 model of the Stingray, Chevy will be building a new king of the hill "Zora" model that will be a hybrid, with a whopping 1000HP! and electric motors driving the front wheels like several of Europe's hot hypercars, just without the 6-figure price tag! Any or all of these models will make supercar builders rethink where they stand. It's true that exclusivity and status will still separate those rare cars from far less expensive models, but for the rest of us who aren't super rich, cars like the new Stingray are simply great news!
