2022 Toyota RAV4 Release Date and Details

Buyers get ready. This is when you can expect your 2022 Toyota RAV4.

This time of year is big for many car buyers for many different reasons. You see, in the fall, we typically begin seeing new model year vehicles at our favorite dealerships.

We get to learn what vehicles will be staying the same, will be slightly refreshed, or will be completely redesigned.

For Toyota this is true as well. The 2022 Camry has a cool new (returning) color for Camry TRD. In 2022 4Runner will receive several new feature updates. New changes and upgrades for 2022 Tacoma. And soon, we will learn specifics on next-gen Tundra.

But Jeff, you did not mention 2022 RAV4.

2022 Toyota RAV4 Release Date

During the worst automotive inventory crunch since the wildly popular “cash for clunkers” promotion, predicting release dates and vehicle supply levels is challenging. To say the least.

We just do not know what to expect. Thanks to COVID-related production shutdowns, computer chip and parts shortages, along with other international logistical challenges. This situation is frustrating for manufacturers, for dealerships, and especially for consumers.

However, I do know we are expected to see the first signs of 2022 RAV4 at dealerships starting sometime in November. This could mean the beginning or the end. I guess that also means it could be the middle of November as well.

When to Order 2022 RAV4

Normally prospective buyers can begin ordering incoming model year vehicles about one month prior to launch.

In other words, you may be able to ask your local Toyota salesperson to work with you on building your ideal RAV4 beginning around “Octoberish” time. Could be a little sooner. The magic 8-ball says, “ask me again later.”

2022 Toyota RAV4 Changes

Toyota RAV4 was last redesigned for the 2019 model year. This would put the 2022 RAV4 at 3 years mid-cycle.

Too soon for a next-gen RAV4 redesign.

What we do not know yet is whether 2022 Toyota RAV4 will see a mild refresh. I would guess no but details are currently unsurprisingly missing. Toyota is notorious for keeping things close to the vest until the right time.

We may see new features added. There may be new paint colors. Perhaps a new trim level. For now, this is just plain old guesswork on my part.

Time for your Toyota RAV4 Comments

The Toyota RAV4 is still the nation’s top-selling small SUV. Buyers and owners have found RAV4 to be reliable, stylish, full of technology and safety, and capable of producing solid miles per gallon numbers.

Of course, Toyota RAV4 world is made up of gasoline-powered RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle).

So many choices.

Do you currently own either a RAV4 or RAV4 Hybrid or RAV4 Prime? How do you like it so far and how is your fuel economy?

Are you in the market for a new vehicle, and if so, how has the vehicle shortage affected your search so far?

Hi Jeff. I can say for sure that the colour blue flame 8X9 will be replaced by calvary blue 8W2.

Bought brand new RAV4 hybrid limited. Seeing in town around 35 to 37 mpg. Yet to take out on interstate and open it up. It's got some guts to it as hit the pedal and gets up and goes. Have not tried sport mode yet maybe today. Still trying to figure out the bells and whistles to the car. One thing that had looked at was the heating and ventilation of seats does not seem to really crank out either but told by technician that set to specs. Just finished up getting clearbra put on it, dealership was out of the material. Plus had tint on Windows the side mirrors are to legal but not very dark. As get to figure out the bells and whistles will love more sure my sons will figure out everything for me in the next month.

I purchased a 2021 Hybrid in November last year. The car is awesome. I regularly get 5.0 litres/100 km. People literally stop me in parking lots to ask if I like the car as they, like me love the look of it. I chose the Blizzard white/ black 2 tone. Car has power when I need it, tons of room inside. Just put on factory cross bars, it makes my Rav4 look even sportier. Best car I have ever owned. No complaints. Look forward to driving it when ever I can. Awesome safety features, an eco score to encourage me to be a better driver. What more can I ask for?

Only 3 dealers in the entire state of AK selling Toyotas. Kendall runs two of them and due to the shortage, they've tacked on an arbitrary $2000 ADM for all vehicles. The third dealer is located in Juneau, accessible only by boat or plane, does not mark up their vehicles, but it costs $3000 to ship one to Anchorage. Deposits run between $500 and $2000 depending on the dealership.

My Toyota dealer has exactly ONE car (a Forerunner) in their showroom and none on their lot. I inquired about a Prime and was told they were all going to the coasts - none to the midwest. No attempt to even try to sell me one. So that's the story on 2021. Why would 2022 be any different?

This is the opposite of an article.

It does nothing but ask questions that it can't answer, and finishes up as a horrible pile of clickbait.

Seriously, it smells awful. Stop.

Fantastic Journalism! What an informative article that tells us so much about the upcoming 2022 RAV4. Kudos to you!

Now all kidding apart, you should be ashamed of posting such nonsensical, hollow and terrible reporting. If you would have done ANY research, you would have know that the production date for the 2022 RAV4 is 12/20/2021 and that based on what is known though a simple google search, Toyota Australia has indicated SOME changes coming to the 2022 RAV4.

If you want to get better at what you claim to do as your career, please invest some time in fact based automobile journalism.

The 2022 RAV4 could be the first Toyota vehicle get TSS 3.0 to compete with the upcoming 2023 Honda CRV. If that happens, wireless Apple Carplay could be offered. I am waiting for the 2022 RAV4 details to be announced and if it gets the TSS 3.0, then I may buy it. If not, I may wait for the 2023 HONDA CR-V.

Wow this article has a lot of words but it tells me absolutely nothing. Almost like it was written by a bot

I feel it's a disgrace that No one knows the updates to the 2022 rav4. I really wanted the new audio system, but it says no change in 2022. I also heard of high prices for the 2022 and no ventilated seats, so Ileased the xse rav4 prime. Yes it is a great car, but I'm hoping no major changes or upgrades for 22. I would like to upgrade if there were major changes, but I probably can't afford it.
Why isn't the rav4 being made till Dec 20. They should be in dealerships already

Congrats. Other than advertising for Toyota, your mention of God and Jesus is a tremendous witness to Christian stewardship and being of service to thousands who need your deliveries to extend/save their lives. We thank God for your faithful service. BTW, I bought a new 2022 Rav4 on 2/4/22. Your auto allowance has to have paid for that Tacoma many times over again and again!
